Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the clinical results of carpal tunnel release using ultrasound guidance (CTR-US) at a minimum of 2 years postprocedure.

Methods: The study consisted of 102 patients (162 hands) treated with CTR-US by the same physician between June 2017 and October 2020 for whom minimum 2-year follow-up data were available. Questionnaires were sent to gather long-term information, with additional phone calls for clarification if needed.

Background: Technology has been identified as a potential solution to alleviate resource gaps and augment care delivery in dementia care settings such as hospitals, long-term care, and retirement homes. Aims: The neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is a systemic reflection of cancer-associated inflammation and a prognostic marker for breast cancer. For the local tumour microenvironment, tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) and tumour-associated macrophages (TAMs) are also highly correlated with breast cancer survival. Background: We propose a novel approach that uses spatial walking patterns produced by real-time location systems to classify the severity of cognitive impairment (CI) among residents of a memory care unit.

Methods: Each participant was classified as "No-CI", "Mild-Moderate CI" or "Severe CI" based on their Mini-Mental State Examination scores. The location data was distributed into windows of various durations (5, 10, 15 and 30 min) and transformed into images used to train a custom convolutional neural network (CNN) at each window size.

Background: Road trauma is a major public health concern, often resulting in reduced health-related quality of life and prolonged absenteeism from work even after so-called 'minor' injuries that do not result in hospitalization. Background: Reherniation rates following lumbar discectomy are low for most patients; however, patients with a large defect in the annulus fibrosis have a significantly higher risk of recurrence. Previous results from a randomized controlled trial (RCT) demonstrated that the implantation of a bone-anchored annular closure device (ACD) during discectomy surgery lowered the risk of symptomatic reherniation and reoperation over one year with fewer serious adverse events (SAEs) compared to discectomy alone.

Objective: The objective of this prospective, post-market, historically controlled study was to evaluate the use of an ACD during discectomy, and to confirm the results of the RCT that was used to establish regulatory approval in the United States.

Bone regeneration depends on a pool of bone/cartilage stem/progenitor cells and signaling mechanisms regulating their differentiation. Using in vitro approach, we have shown that PDGF signaling through PDGFRβ inhibits BMP2-induced osteogenesis, and significantly attenuates expression of BMP2 target genes. We evaluated outcomes of treatment with two anabolic agents, PDGF and BMP2 using different bone healing models.
