Often ill people are, first of all, patients with recurrent infectious and inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract (URT). They put a significant financial burden on the healthcare system. The leading etiological factors of recurrent inflammatory diseases of URT, in addition to pathogenic bacterial microflora, are viral agents (viruses of the viral respiratory infections group, herpes viruses).

Accurate monitoring of its functioning often enables early detection of various diseases related to disorders in skin microcirculation. To expand the scope of capillaroscopy application, it is reasonable to visualize and assess blood microcirculation exactly in the areas of inflamed skin.

Background: Autoimmune chronic spontaneous urticaria (aiCSU) comes with high disease activity and poor response to treatment. Recently, elevated levels of IgG anti-thyroid peroxidase (aTPO) and low levels of total IgE were reported to be common in aiCSU.
Objective: To investigate how high aTPO and low IgE individually and combined are linked to features of aiCSU, including treatment responses.
We studied the expression of IFN-inducible genes OAS1 and Mx1 in lysates of peripheral blood mononuclear cells from patients suffering from recurrent Herpes simplex infections in comparison with healthy people. To induce the expression of the studied genes, blood mononuclears were incubated with recombinant IFN-α2b in concentrations of 1, 10, and 100 U/ml for 3 h and then the content of the studied transcripts was evaluated. Relative expression of OAS1 and Mx1 in patients with recurrent forms of Herpes simplex both during the acute stage and clinical remission did not differ significantly from that in healthy people after stimulation with IFN-α2b in a concentration of 1 U/ml and in higher concentrations (10 and 100 U/ml).

Fortepren(®) may be used as the drug of choice in the treatment of herpes diseases. It was shown that treatment with Fortepren(®) of patients with a chronic recurrent herpes infection after acute phase termination with acyclovir decreased the recurrence rate, as well as the severity of local symptoms.

The aim of our research was the study of bioelectrical activity of masticatory muscles during the adaptation of patients to complete relatively fixed prosthesis, using rigid fixed abutments and abutments provided cushioning the loss of one of the supporting implants. Studies electromyographic indicators suggest that the process of adaptation to complete relatively fixed prostheses, there is better in patients who use prosthetic latching on implant systems with shock-absorbing abutment.

Aim: Selection of optimal dosage regimen, length of treatment course (frequency of administration), safety, tolerance and clinical effectiveness evaluation of the medical preparation fortepren in patients with chronical recurrent herpes virus infection of genital localization.
Materials And Methods: The medical product of antiviral and immune modulating effect--fortepren (sodium polyprenyl phosphate) as a 4 mg/ml solution for injections combined with the base course of acyclic nucleoside acyclovir, 400 mg tablets, held studies. 40 male and female patients participated in the study.

Cross colonization of open cavities of human body has little been studied in contemporary medicine. There in no practical recommendations as for management of dental patients with urogenital tract microflora disorder. The paper presents the findings of clinical features of periodontium tissues in women with bacterial vaginosis correlated with bacteriological estimation of oral cavity and vagina, number of sexual partners.

Aim: Study of features of NK-cell response to the effect of recombinant IFN-alpha in complex with evaluation of the ability to synthesize inherent IFN-alpha in patients with frequently recurrent herpes simplex (FRHS).
Materials And Methods: 48 patients with genital (n = 31), labial (n = 10) and mixed localization (n = 7) FRHS diagnosis were observed. 31 healthy donors composed the control group.
NK cells lyse virus-infected cells by degranulation; however, alterations in NK cell degranulation in persistent viral infections have not been directly studied. Earlier reports have documented a decrease in NK activity in patients with frequently recurring herpes (FRH). We corroborate these findings by showing that the degranulation responses of blood NK cells from patients with FRH, both during relapse and during remission, are significantly lower than those in healthy donors.

The use of anaferon in complex therapy reduced the duration of intoxication symptoms and local symptoms, shortened the duration of the relapse, activated expression of IFN-gamma mRNA, and improved IFN-gamma-producing capacity of blood leukocytes.

Physiological ways of recovery of the thermal status of individuals exposed to general cooling are substantiated. A physiological rationale is presented for the design of engineering aids to prevent overcooling in persons who do their work in cold.

Material And Methods: Skin prick-titration with 10-dilution histamine and specific allergen, provocative nasal titration with 2-dilution histamine and allergen before and after a single intake of H1-antagonists were made in 30 patients in stable clinical remission of pollenosis during maximal antihistamine activity of the above drugs.
Results: Systemic administration of the known H1-antagonists suppresses histamine sensitivity of both skin and nasal mucosa in the same degree.

The clinical efficacy and tolerance of cefpirome were estimated in the treatment of patients with bacterial infection of the respiratory tract. The estimate included 15 patients with acute and chronic bronchopulmonary diseases: 6 patients with acute pneumonia, 5 with exacerbated chronic purulent obstructive bronchitis and 4 with primary immune deficiency (agammaglobulinemia and acute pneumonia). Excellent and good total efficacy of the drug was stated in 6 and 8 patients respectively.

The suggested LBGT variant is a sensitive and reproducible technique fit for assessing the immunity status, making use of small volumes (up to 0.1 ml) of the blood; it is recommended for clinical examinations and mass immunologic screenings.
