Acute rise of portal venous pressure resulted in a fall of blood pressure and subsequent anuria which could be either due to the state of shock or may be reflex in origin. There also occurred an increase in extra-cellular fluid volume with an initial increase in both plasma volume and interstitial fluid volume. Subsequently the extra-cellular fluid volume remained at a high steady value whereas the plasma volume increased at the expense of interstitial fluid volume which decreased.

One strain each of granular and downy varieties of Trichophyton mentagrophytes and two strains each of granular and floccose colonial types Trichophyton rubrum were used for preparation of antigens. The antigens were analyzed by double diffusion against homologous and heterologous antisera raised in rabbits. A total of 17 distinct antigens were recognized, seven of which were common to two dermatophytes.

The classical approach to management of intestinal hemorrhage due to typhoid ulceration has been conservative. In, however, the event of massive, persistent and life-threatening hemorrhage not responding to conservative measures, early surgical intervention is life-saving, controls typhoid toxemia rapidly and presents no special difficulties. A right hemicolectomy is recommended.

Fifteen healthy stray dogs of both sexes were employed in the present study. The effect of distension of right and left atrial appendages with normal saline was observed on heart rate and blood pressure under different situations. It has been found that distension of either appendages separately or simultaneously invariably evoked tachycardia without any appreciable change in blood pressure.
