Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a major global health threat that affects millions of people each year. Funding agencies worldwide and the global research community have expended considerable capital and effort tracking the evolution and spread of AMR by isolating and sequencing bacterial strains and performing antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST). For the last several years, we have been capturing these efforts by curating data from the literature and data resources and building a set of assembled bacterial genome sequences that are paired with laboratory-derived AST data.

Malaria epidemics represent one of the life-threatening diseases to low-income lying countries which subsequently affect the economic and social condition of mankind. In continuation in the development of a novel series of 1,2,4-trioxanes 13a1-c1, 13a2-c2, and 13a3-c3 have been prepared and further converted into their hemisuccinate derivatives 14a1-c1, 14a2-c2, and 14a3-c3 respectively. The effect of simulated physiological oocyte maturation on the developmental competence, reactive oxygen species production and apoptosis rate of in vitro produced goat embryos were studied in the present experiment. Oocytes and spermatozoa were recovered from ovaries and epididymis, respectively, procured from a local small animal abattoir. The oocytes aspirated from the ovaries were allocated into two groups, control (subjected to routine in vitro maturation, fertilization and culture) and simulated physiological oocyte maturation (SPOM) group (subjected to prematuration, followed by routine in vitro maturation, fertilization and culture).

The present study aimed to investigate the genetic and forensic attributes of Uttarakhand population based on 20 autosomal STR loci implemented in PowerPlex® 21 System. Results unveiled 219 alleles ranging from 6 (TH01, TPOX) to 20 (Penta E). Forensic analysis revealed locus Penta E as the most polymorphic and discriminative loci, whereas genetic analysis indicated presence of higher heterozygosity within population.

In search of novel therapeutic agents active against emerging drug-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis and to counter the long treatment protocol of existing drugs, herein we present synthesis and biological evaluation of a new series of 5-phenyl-3-isoxazolecarboxylic acid methyl ester-chalcone hybrids. Among 35 synthesized compounds, 32 analogues displayed potent in-vitro activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv with MIC 0.12-16 μg/mL.

Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have been successfully used in many applications where important information about data is embedded in the order of features, such as speech and imaging. However, most tabular data do not assume a spatial relationship between features, and thus are unsuitable for modeling using CNNs. To meet this challenge, we develop a novel algorithm, image generator for tabular data (IGTD), to transform tabular data into images by assigning features to pixel positions so that similar features are close to each other in the image.
