Impacts of chloride ions on the electrochemical decomplexation and degradation of Cr(III)-EDTA: Reaction mechanisms of HO and RCS.

The removal of Cr(III)-organic complexes, encompassing both decomplexation and ligand degradation, presents significant challenges in industrial wastewater treatment. As one of the most common anions in wastewater, Cl significantly improves the efficiency of electrochemically removing Cr(III)-organic complexes through generated reactive chlorine species (RCS). In the electrochemical chlorine (EC/Cl) process, extensive experimentation revealed that ClO plays a dominant role in the degradation of Cr(III)-EDTA, surpassing the effects of free chlorine, direct electrooxidation, HO, and other RCS.

The effect of peer victimization on adolescents' revenge: the roles of hostility attribution bias and rumination tendency.

Although previous studies revealed that peer victimization was closely related to revenge, mechanisms underlying this association have been unclear. The purpose of this study is to examine the mediating role of hostility attribution bias (HAB) and the moderating role of rumination tendency in the relationship between peer victimization and revenge. The data were collected from 6,622 adolescents.

The role of reactive phosphate species in the abatement of micropollutants by activated peroxymonosulfate in the treatment of phosphate-rich wastewater.

This study investigated the mechanisms of forming reactive species to degrade micropollutants through the activation of peroxymonosulfate (PMS) by phosphate, a prevalent ion in wastewater. Considering the density functional theory results, the formation of hydrogen bonds between phosphate and PMS molecules might be the crucial step in the overall reactions, which prefers producing OH and reactive phosphate species (RPS, namely HPO, HPO, and PO) to yielding SO. Besides, in the phosphate (5 mM)/PMS system at pH = 8, HPO was modeled to be the dominant radical with a steady-state concentration of 3.

Concern for mianzi: Relations with adjustment in rural and urban Chinese adolescents.

The present study examined relations between concern for mianzi, or the social perception of one's prestige and standing in the group, and adjustment in Chinese adolescents. Participants were seventh- and ninth-grade students in rural and urban regions of China (n = 794, M  = 14 years). Data were obtained from multiple sources including peer assessments, teacher ratings, self-reports, and school records.

Childhood emotional abuse and cyberbullying perpetration among Chinese university students: The chain mediating effects of self-esteem and problematic social media use.

Childhood abuse has been shown to have a range of adverse physical and psychological consequences, including aggression and bullying. While researchers have explored the relationship between childhood abuse and cyberbullying, little is known about the impact of emotional abuse on cyberbullying. This study examined the link between childhood emotional abuse (CEA) and cyberbullying perpetration among university students in the Chinese cultural context, as well as the chain mediating effect of self-esteem and Problematic Social Media Use (PSMU).
