In this work, two high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) assays were developed and validated for the independent determination of edaravone and taurine using 3-methyl-1-p-tolyl-5-pyrazolone and L-glutamine as internal standards. In in vitro experiments, human plasma was separately spiked with a mixture of edaravone and taurine, edaravone or taurine alone. Plasma was precipitated with acetonitrile containing 0.

In this study, two independent and complementary liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) methods were respectively developed and validated for the determination of edaravone or taurine in rat urine, feces and bile after intravenous administration, using 3-methyl-l-p-tolyl-5-pyrazolone and sulfanilic acid as the internal standards (IS). Edaravone was separated on an Agilent Eclipse Plus C18 column (100×2.1 mm, 3.

Chromatographic separations were achieved on an Agilent Zorbax SB-Aq (100 × 2.1 mm, 3.

The anti-allergic effect of a 70% ethanol extract from Dictamnus dasycarpus Turcz (DDT) was studied in mice. DDT at doses of 200 and 500 mg/kg inhibited the systemic anaphylactic shock induced by compound 48/80 in a dose-dependent manner. It also inhibited dose-dependently the scratching behavior induced by compound 48/80, histamine and serotonin.

For the above purpose, we studied the effects of pranlukast and zafirlukast (cysteinyl leukotriene (cys-LT) receptor antagonists), seratrodast and ramatroban (thromboxane A(2) (TXA(2)) receptor antagonists) on nasal congestion and sneezing induced by toluene 2, 4-diisocyanate (TDI). All of these drugs suppressed the increase of enhanced pause (Penh), the index of nasal congestion, in both early and late phase responses; however, pranlukast, zafirlukast and seratrodast failed to suppress immediate sneezing caused by TDI challenge.

A single administration of Pleurotus Pulmonarius caused no significant effect on antigen-induced nasal rubbing and sneezing at a dose of 500 mg/kg, but a significant inhibition was observed after 2 weeks of repeated treatment at this dose, and at a dose of 200 mg/kg, it also caused a significant inhibition after repeated administration for 4 weeks. Pleurotus pulmonarius showed no significant inhibitory effect on the production of IgE.

From 18 days after the first systemic immunization, daily epicutaneous application of ovalbumin was performed for 2 weeks. Antigen challenge (ovalbumin) resulted in a significant increase of scratching behavior from day 23 to day 32.

The present study was performed to develop a new chronic itch model accompanied by skin lesions using hairless mice. The effects of some drugs on the itch response in this model were also studied. 2,4,6-Trinitrochlorobenzene (TNCB) was applied repeatedly on the rostral back of sensitized hairless mice every 2 days for 54 days, and the scratching behavior was observed on day 0, 18, 36 and 54.

Hop water extract (HWE) and XAD-4 50% methanol fraction of HWE (MFH) inhibited histamine release from rat mast cells induced by compound 48/80 at concentrations of 100 and 10 mug/ml, respectively.

As reference mice, NC/Nga, ICR, and ddY mice were used. Scratching behavior in HR-1 and ICR mice was increased dose-dependently by compound 48/80.

The extract dose-dependently inhibited scratching behavior induced by compound 48/80 and serotonin. A significant inhibition was observed at doses of 300 and 600 mg/kg when Bulgaria inquinans extract was administered orally.
