Article Synopsis
  • This study evaluates the effectiveness of a combined test for assessing hemorrhagic transformation and predicting outcomes in patients after thrombolysis for acute cerebral infarction, using various analytical methods including logistic regression and ROC curve analysis.
  • The research highlights that certain biomarkers (D-D, Hcy, cTnI) showed varying sensitivity and specificity in identifying patients at risk, with the combined assay outperforming single assays.
  • Key findings reveal that while there was no significant correlation between certain imaging metrics and clinical outcomes, the mismatch between diffusion-weighted imaging and perfusion-weighted imaging scores can help guide treatment decisions during the subacute phase of stroke recovery.

Objective: To investigate the metabolic changes on proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (¹H-MRS) in patients with first left basal ganglia infarction and their relationship with depression.

Methods: Twenty-two patients with first left basal ganglia infarction and 10 matched healthy controls were recruited in the study. Patients and controls underwent (1)H MRS scan and the spectrum of N-acetyl aspartic acid (NAA), choline (Cho) and creatinine (Cr) was recorded at the first week (D7) and 1 month after onset (M1), respectively.
