Cardiac fibrosis plays an important role in cardiac remodeling after myocardial infarction (MI). The molecular mechanisms that promote cardiac fibrosis after MI are well studied; however, the mechanisms by which the progression of cardiac fibrosis becomes attenuated after MI remain poorly understood.
