The retrosplenial cortex (RSC) is one of the earliest brain regions affected in AD, and changes in its functional connectivity (FC) are reported to underlie disease-associated memory impairment. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of acupuncture on FC with the RSC in patients with AD.

Objective: Acute unilateral vestibulopathy (AUVP) is quite common in clinical practice, but lesion localization and etiological diagnosis of AUVP remain the current clinical challenges, and have always been the focus for researchers. The study aimed to explore the lesion site and possible etiology of AUVP.
Methods: This study is a retrospective study.
The posterior cingulate cortex and hippocampus are the core regions involved in episodic memory, and they exhibit functional connectivity changes in the development and progression of Alzheimer's disease. Previous studies have demonstrated that the posterior cingulate cortex and hippocampus are both cytoarchitectonically heterogeneous regions. Specifically, the retrosplenial cortex, typically subsumed under the posterior cingulate cortex, is an area functionally and anatomically distinct from the posterior cingulate cortex, and the hippocampus is composed of several subregions that participate in multiple cognitive processes.

Despite progress in the prediction of DFS by radiomics, only preoperative clinical features have been combined in most studies. The aim of this study was to construct a nomogram model (NM) using preoperative clinical features, radiomics, and postoperative pathological indicators for more effective prediction of DFS.

Advertising systems are designed to maximize platform revenue, but other goals also need to be considered, such as user experience, advertiser utility, and how to achieve the long-term revenue goal. A key component of a sponsored search system is online allocation, which makes real-time decisions to match users' search requests with relevant ad campaigns to maximize platform revenue within constraints such as campaign budgets.

To ascertain the optimal performance of CTS/ZMS, a custom central composite design (CCD) was utilised to assess the operational parameters (dosage and contact time) of CTS/ZMS composites. Batch experiments were carried out to determine the removal efficiency and adsorption capacity across varying pH values (3-12) and temperatures (5 °C to 30 °C).

Method: By searching PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane, CNKI, Wanfang and other databases, all the literatures until March 2024 about the comparison of randomized controlled Trial (RCT) of mixed nutrition and parenteral nutrition support in postoperative patients with esophageal cancer were screened. The inclusion criteria were that the patients were from randomized controlled trials or clinical trials in China, and the patients were all diagnosed with esophageal cancer by pathological biopsy.
Objective: Recent research has highlighted the insula as a critical hub in human brain networks and the most susceptible region to subjective cognitive decline (SCD). However, the changes in functional connectivity of insular subregions in SCD patients remain poorly understood. The present study aims to clarify the altered functional connectivity patterns within insular subregions in individuals with SCD using resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI).

This study utilized net-work meta-analysis (NMA) to indirectly compare the efficacy of various first-line immuno-therapy regimens in this patient subset.
Methods: Systematic searches were conducted across PubMed, the Cochrane Library, Web of Science, and Embase databases for randomized controlled trials reporting overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) outcomes.
Background: To develop a novel complexity evaluation system for mitral valve repair based on preoperative echocardiographic data and multiple machine learning algorithms.
Methods: From March 2021 to March 2023, 231 consecutive patients underwent mitral valve repair. Clinical and echocardiographic data were included in the analysis.
Background: This article aimed to discuss the efficacy and safety of endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy (EDCR) versus external dacryocystorhinostomy (EX-DCR) for the treatment of dacryocystitis by meta-analysis.
Methods: All randomized controlled trials that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were collected by searching the following databases: PubMed, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and Wanfang, from the establishment of the database to June 2023. Meta-analysis was performed using Stata 17.

Rationale And Objectives: This study aimed to develop and evaluate a radiomics-based model combined with clinical and qualitative radiological (semantic feature [SF]) features to predict immune checkpoint inhibitor-related pneumonitis (CIP) in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treated with programmed cell death protein 1 inhibitors.
Materials And Methods: This was a multicenter retrospective casecontrol study conducted from January 1, 2018, to December 31, 2022, at three centers. Patients with NSCLC treated with anti-PD1 were enrolled and randomly divided into two groups (7:3): training (n = 95) and validation (n = 39).
Objective: Meta-analysis was performed to evaluate the prognostic factors in tumor patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) under antibiotic exposure.
Method: Literature on the effect of antibiotics on the prognosis of tumor patients receiving ICIs was retrieved from Pubmed, Cochrane Library, EMbase, EBSCO Evidence-Based Medicine Database, China Biomedical Literature Database (CBM), and China National Knowledge Network (CNKI), and relevant influencing factors were extracted. Meta-analysis of efficacy was performed using RevMan 5.

Sex differences in cancer incidence and survival are constant and pronounced globally, across all races and all age groups of cancer types. In 2016, after the National Institutes of Health proposed a policy of utilizing sex as a biological variable, researchers started paying more attention to the molecular mechanisms behind gender variations in cancer. Historically, most previous studies investigating sex differences have been centered on gonadal sex hormones.

In recent years, with the promotion of the concept of precision medicine and more in-depth analysis of the biological mechanism underlying HCC, new diagnostic methods, including emerging serum markers, liquid biopsies, molecular diagnosis, and advances in imaging (novel contrast agents and radiomics), have emerged one after another.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFA programmable metasurface based on liquid crystal is of great significance to versatile dynamic wave manipulation such as beamforming and beam steering. One of the biggest obstacles currently is the lack of a simple way to multi-bit programming scheme for massive electrically addressable arrays, which limits its application and magnifies drawbacks like unavoidable symmetrical beam diffraction. Here, we put forward the concept of a liquid crystal metasurface based on a resonance switching mechanism for quasi-2-bit coding control, which is established upon interdigital structure electrodes.
