Effectively compressing transmitted images and reducing the distortion of reconstructed images are challenges in image semantic communication. This paper proposes a novel image semantic communication model that integrates a dynamic decision generation network and a generative adversarial network to address these challenges as efficiently as possible. At the transmitter, features are extracted and selected based on the channel's signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) using semantic encoding and a dynamic decision generation network.

Article Synopsis
  • - Neonatal respiratory distress syndrome (NRDS) is a common and serious condition in newborns, primarily caused by a lack of surfactant, leading to breathing difficulties and high mortality rates in China.
  • - The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of combining pulmonary surfactant with noninvasive positive pressure ventilation in treating NRDS by measuring the levels of keratin-14 (KRT-14) and endothelin-1 (ET-1) in blood.
  • - Results indicated that the combined treatment significantly improved the effectiveness rate and blood gas parameters in infants without increasing mortality or serious complications, while reducing KRT-14 and ET-1 levels post-treatment.

Objective: This study aims to investigate the potential of mustard oil-induced reduction in acetylcholine expression as a means to delay the progression of colon cancer within the internal environment.

Methods: The study design in this research involved both in vitro cellular experiments and in vivo animal experiments to employ mustard oil to modulate acetylcholine expression levels and evaluate its impact on colon cancer. Cellular experiments involved the introduction of six concentrations of acetylcholine (10-2, 10-3, 10-4, 10-5, 10-6, and 10-7 mol/L) into colon cancer cell cultures to monitor cell proliferation.

We propose a geometric optimization method combined with the Coulombic energy indicator that can uniformly distribute polarization states on the Poincaré sphere. Based on this method, we investigate the optimal frames of a rotating polarizer and rotating quarter-wave plate (RPRQ)-based polarization state generator (PSG) at different numbers of modulations. We use the PSG on a dual DoFP polarimeter-based Mueller matrix microscope to measure standard samples and pathological sections for testing the performance of an optimized RPRQ.

The present study is mainly to explore the mechanism that how Qigesan (QGS) affects the movement capacity of esophageal cancer (EC) cell. QGS incubates ECA109 and TE1 cell lines and detecting the motility of tumor cells by different experiments. Growth arrest-specific 6 (Gas6) and Anexelekto (Axl) were co-localized, and then detecting Gas6, Axl signaling pathway, and protein expression after QGS intervention.

We report a new quantitative measurement method of polarization direction based on the polarization axis finder (PAF) and digital image processing. The PAF acts as an azimuthal analyzer to determine the polarization direction of linearly polarized light and form an "hourglass" intensity pattern, and a digital camera is employed to record the pattern, and then the lightwave's polarization direction is obtained accurately by analyzing the pattern with a specially designed digital image processing algorithm. The quantitative measuring experiments have been carried out by validating the standard quartz plates with known rotation angles, and the measurement accuracy has reached 0.

We propose a simplified prism-free surface plasmon resonance (SPR) refractive index sensor based on self adaptive angular interrogation. An orthogonal V-shaped box with liquid sample is designed to achieve the functions of prism, sample cell, and mirror in a single setup. The rotator taking the self adaptive sample box is the sole mobile part in the system, which simplifies the structure greatly.

Structured illumination has been employed in fluorescence microscopy to extend its lateral resolution. It has been demonstrated that a factor of 2 improvement can be achieved. In this paper, we introduce a novel optical arrangement that can further improve the resolution.

We describe a wide-field interferometric surface-plasmon microscope capable of submicrometer resolution. The system is a speckle-illuminated Linnik interferometer, which behaves as a wide-field analog of a scanning heterodyne interferometer. The presented images demonstrate contrast reversals at different defocus while retaining submicrometer lateral resolution.

We report bright-field and dark-field surface-plasmon imaging using a modified solid immersion lens and a commercial objective of moderate NA in the epi configuration. The contrast and resolution are extremely good, giving well-resolved images of protein monolayers both in air and in water. We also describe a two-part solid immersion lens that allows the sample to be moved without degrading the image quality in any observable way.
