In order to analyze the complexity and cost of methods of modern orthodontic treatment for children in the mixed bite period as well as to determine the necessary costs for eliminating dentoalveolar anomalies in primary school children taking into account the prevalence of anomalies we studied the duration and frequency of orthodontist visits during treatment using the 2x4 technique, a removable plate with artificial teeth, a ring with a spacer, a plate with a front bite pad, a plate with a shutter for the tongue, and Twin-block appliance, Dilar mask in combination with an expansion apparatus, plates with a screw, appliance with a hyrax expansion screw. Based on the complexity the salary of the orthodontist and other personnel, the costs of maintaining the doctor’s workplace and the dental technician are calculated. The cost of consumables at the clinical and dental stages was determined considering the purchase prices and the cost of a specific manipulation by weighing or measuring.

Superelastic titanium alloys (titanium-niobium-zirconium and titanium-niobium-tantalum) are considered to be the more advantageous choice for dental implants than titanium alloys due to their physico-mechanical properties close to those of the bone tissue. Morphological studies of the biocompatibility of these alloys in comparison with titanium were carried out in vivo. Scanning electron microscopy and microprobe elemental analysis of the tissue along the interface between the bone and titanium/superelastic titanium alloys showed similar morphology and elemental composition both on days 30 (poorly mineralized connective tissue was detected in sites of contact with titanium alloy samples) and 90 after surgery (the surface of the titanium alloy samples was covered with mineralized tissue similar by its composition to the surrounding bone).

The study evaluated the effect of local anesthesia with articaine in different combinations with epinephrine and clonidine (articaine (4%) + epinephrine (1:200 000), articaine (4%) + clonidine (1:100 000), articaine (4%) + epinephrine (1:200 000) + clonidine (1:100 000), articaine (4%) + epinephrine (1:400 000) + clonidine (1:100 000)), on a number of physiological parameters in pediatric dental practice that characterize cardiovascular system, patient's degree of adaptation to a stressful situation and efficacy of analgesia. It is shown that in terms of impact on the cardiovascular system and stress adaptation indicators anesthesia including combination of epinephrine (1: 200 000) and clonidine (1: 100 000) in the anesthetic solution is the safest. Furthermore, this method ensures the most appropriate analgesic effect.

The study evaluated duration and depth of the local infiltration anesthesia by articaine with different combinations of epinephrine and clonidine : articaine (4%) + epinephrine (1: 200 000), articaine (4%) + clonidine (1:100 000), articaine (4%) + epinephrine (1:200 000) + clonidine (1:100 000), articaine (4%) + epinephrine (1: 400 000) + clonidine (1:100, 000) in pediatric dental practice. It was revealed that the replacement of the vasoconstrictor epinephrine on clonidine associated with reduced depth and duration of analgesia. This increased efficiency is provided by inclusion of epinephrine (1:200 000), and clonidine (1:100 000) into anesthetic solution, which provided statistically significant increase in depth and duration of anesthesia.

Philosophy of training students, physicians, and tutors of dentistry schools in medical informatics and the relevant curricula are discussed. Specialized software for differential diagnosis and treatment of the major stomatological diseases (dental caries, pulpitis, periodontitis, mucosal, periodontal, oral diseases, tumors, rapid methods for AIDS screening, etc.) are presented.

Analysis of published data on the effects of drugs used in dentistry for local analgesia and of the authors' findings will help the dentists properly select adequate analgesia with due consideration for the extent of intervention and patient's condition. Study of carpulated local amide anesthetics lidocaine, mepivacaine, and articaine revealed the relationship between the efficacy of anesthesia and its effects on cardiovascular system, on the one hand, and the anesthetic proper, presence of a vasoconstrictor, and type of anesthesia, on the other.

Analysis of the authors' findings and published reports on the effects of local anesthetics will help a dentist properly choose adequate anesthesia for each patient with due consideration for the type of intervention and anesthesia. Study of the carpulated local amide anesthetics lidocaine, mepivacaine, and articaine helped detect the relationship between the efficacy of analgesia and its effect on the cardiovascular system, on the one hand, and the drug used, presence of a vasoconstrictor, and type of anesthesia, on the other.

The studies were performed on 161 patients with allergosis, aged 18 to 60 years. The severity of allergosis was the most significant clinical sign affecting the pain sensitivity of the patients under study. All the patients with allergoses were characterized by a higher psychoemotional response to pain stimuli than patients without the accompanying pathology.

The efficiency of mandibular conduction anesthesia was assessed in patients with inflammatory disorders in the area innervated by the mandibular nerve. In patients with conduction anesthesia induced after an electroneurostimulation session, the efficiency of anesthesia was considerably higher than in those operated on under mandibular anesthesia only.
