Article Synopsis
  • Secretory pituitary adenomas are common brain tumors, and MASEP gamma knife radiosurgery (MASEP GKRS) has recently emerged as an effective treatment option, alongside traditional therapies like surgery and radiotherapy.
  • A study involving 347 patients treated with MASEP GKRS over a follow-up period of 60 to 90 months showed that the procedure was well-tolerated, with minimal side effects and rare instances of acute radioreaction.
  • The results indicated a high percentage of tumor volume reduction or stability in patients with different types of hormone-secreting adenomas, suggesting that MASEP GKRS is both a safe and effective treatment method for these tumors.
