Teratoma of the Tongue in a Fetus: A Case Report and Review of the Literature.

Teratomas are tumors composed of multiple embryonic germ layers of tissue, and those occurring in the tongue of the fetus are extremely rare. This paper reports the case of a 20-week-old fetus diagnosed with oral masses combined with a cleft lip and palate using prenatal ultrasonography. The patient decided to terminate the pregnancy due to economic factors after prenatal genetic consultation.

Case report: Cardiac metastatic leiomyoma in an Asian female.

Background: Uterine leiomyomas are the most common gynecological tumors in women of child-bearing age and premenopausal women, while benign metastasizing leiomyomas of the heart are rare.

Case Presentation: We report a rare case of metastasizing leiomyoma in the heart of a 54-year-old woman 10 years after a uterine leiomyoma was discovered during hysterectomy. Echocardiography, cardiac plain scan and enhanced MRI at presentation showed a soft tissue signal mass in the right ventricle.

A novel method for detection of HBVcccDNA in hepatocytes using rolling circle amplification combined with in situ PCR.

Background: Intrahepatic hepatitis B virus (HBV) covalently closed circular DNA (cccDNA) is the original template for HBV replication. The persistence of cccDNA is responsible for the recurrence of HBV infection. The detection of cccDNA can help the development of new antiviral drugs against HBV replication links, and reduce the resistance and recurrence as well as to discover extrahepatic HBV infection.
