The impact of a bundled policy intervention on improving the performance of rural healthcare in China.

Background: The strategy of health policy has been changed for improving the performances to meeting the increasing healthcare demands. However, limited evidences were found to prove that the bundled payment was valid for service delivering in public sector. This study was designed to evaluate the effectiveness of a bundled policy on strengthening the county-village communication and improving the quality of chronic disease management.

Integrated care delivery and health care seeking by chronically-ill patients - a case-control study of rural Henan province, China.

Objective: This study examined the impact of an Integrated Care Delivery intervention on health care seeking and outcomes for chronically-ill patients in Henan province, China.

Methods: A case-control study was carried out in six health care organizations from two counties in Henan province, China. 371 patients aged 50 years or over with hypertension or diabetes who visited either community health centers or hospitals in the Intervention or Control Counties were systematically selected and surveyed on health care seeking behavior, quality of care, and pathway of care for their major chronic condition.

Impact on the performance of health workers adopted performance-related contracts in the provision of basic public health service at village and township levels.

Background: This paper focus on the impact on the performance of health workers at village and township levels in the provision of a government stipulated package of basic public health service, which adopted the performance-related contracts mode.

Methods: The concept of balanced scorecard was adopted and developed to gather the 11 evaluation indicators distributed in four quadrants. These were implemented using on-site questionnaire and interview design.
