A new enantioselective open-tubular capillary electrochromatography (OT-CEC) was developed employing β-cyclodextrin covalent organic frameworks (β-CD COFs) conjugated gold-poly glycidyl methacrylate nanoparticles (Au-PGMA NPs) as a stationary phase. The resulting coating layer on the inner wall of the fabricated capillary column was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), and electroosmotic flow (EOF) experiments. The performance of the fabricated capillary column was evaluated by CEC using enantiomers of seven model analytes, including two proton pump inhibitors (PPIs, omeprazole and tenatoprazole), three amino acids (AAs, tyrosine, phenylalanine, and tryptophan), and two fluoroquinolones (FQs, gatifloxacin and sparfloxacin).

This study introduces (S)-Opto-prop-2, a second-generation photoswitchable ligand designed for precise modulation of β-adrenoceptor (βAR). Synthesised by incorporating an azobenzene moiety with propranolol, (S)-Opto-prop-2 exhibited a high PSS (photostationary state for cis isomer) percentage (∼90 %) and a favourable half-life (>10 days), facilitating diverse bioassay measurements. In vitro, the cis-isomer displayed substantially higher βAR binding affinity than the trans-isomer (1000-fold), making (S)-Opto-prop-2 one of the best photoswitchable GPCR (G protein-coupled receptor) ligands reported so far.

The number of O pollution days indicates an overall increasing trend over 2014-2021 in Wuxi in the Yangtze River Delta, with the pollution concentrations of MDA8-O between 186 and 200 μg·m. Specifically, a total of 62 POPEs (persistent O pollution events), defined as episodes with 3 or more continuous O pollution days, were observed for the 8 years. To explore the effect of different emulsifier contents on the stability performance of biomass-emulsified asphalt, three types of emulsified asphalt with 1%, 3%, and 5% anionic emulsifiers were prepared and analyzed by molecular dynamics simulation and macroscopic experiments. Firstly, we used molecular simulation software (Material Studio, MS) to construct a model of biomass-emulsified asphalt with different emulsifier contents and analyzed the microscopic mechanism of the emulsifier to improve the stability of the emulsified asphalt by the radial distribution function, interaction energy, interfacial layer thickness, and solubility parameters of the emulsified asphalt system with different emulsifier contents. The results were validated by macro and micro tests including storage stability, particle size determination, and infrared spectroscopy.

In this study, we synthesized and evaluated new photoswitchable ligands for the beta-adrenergic receptors β-AR and β-AR, applying an azologization strategy to the first-generation beta-blocker propranolol. The resulting compounds (Opto-prop-1, -2, -3) have good photochemical properties with high levels of light-induced - isomerization (>94%) and good thermal stability (  > 10 days) of the resulting -isomer in an aqueous buffer. Upon illumination with 360-nm light to PSS , large differences in binding affinities were observed for photoswitchable compounds at β-AR as well as β-AR.

Expansion joint failure is one of the main causes that lead to the damages of concrete pavement. The silicon dioxide/shape memory polyurethane (SiO/SMPU) is a new kind of sealant which can use its shape memory performance to adapt to the width of the expansion joint with the change of pavement temperature, and it can effectively prolong the service life of the pavement and reduce maintenance costs. Our previous studies shown that syndecan-1 (SDC1) may be a novel class of biomarkers for the diagnosis and treatment of glioma, but its specific roles and the in-depth molecular mechanism remain elusive. Here, we used Estimation of STromal and Immune cells in Malignant Tumor tissues using Expression data (ESTIMATE) algorithms and single-sample Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (ssGSEA) algorithms to evaluate the immune score of tumor samples and quantify the relative infiltration of immune cells in the tumor microenvironment (TME), respectively, in different data sets obtained from the Chinese Glioma Genome Atlas and The Cancer Gene Atlas. Next, we calculate the correlation of the immune score and immune cells with SDC1, respectively.

Hypoxia is identified as one of the microenvironmental features of most solid tumors and is involved in tumor progression. In the present research, we demonstrate that lncRNA extracellular leucine rich repeat and fibronectin type III domain-containing 1-antisense RNA 1 (ELFN1-AS1) is upregulated by hypoxia in colon cancer cells. Knockdown of ELFN1-AS1 in hypoxic colon cancer cells can reduce cell proliferation and restore the invasion to non-hypoxic levels.
