The ever-increasing emergence and prevalence of multidrug-resistant bacteria accelerate the desire for the development of new antibacterial strategies. Although antibacterial phytochemicals are a promising approach for long-term treatment of resistant bacteria, their low antibacterial activity and poor solubility hinder their practical applications. Here, the natural antibacterial compound sanguinarine (SG) together with gallic acid-ferrous coordination nanoparticles (GA-Fe(II) NPs) was encapsulated in a near-infrared (NIR)-activated thermo-responsive liposome.

However, the molecular mechanisms of nutrition involved are largely unexplored. Here, we showed that maternal methionine supply significantly improved pregnancy outcomes, which was closely related to interleukin-5 (IL-5) concentration.

Salivary exosome act as a promising biomarker, while the complex and expensive analytical methods impeded its popularization in clinical applications. In this study, we developed a label-free aptasensor for salivary exosomes that utilizes a "one exosome to multiple carbon dots" signal conversion method along with nano-micro dual-scale signal amplification strategy.

However, the specific functions of its excitatory and inhibitory networks during anesthesia remain uncertain. Here we explored the hypothesis that somatostatin interneurons in the medial prefrontal cortex enhance the effects of sevoflurane anesthesia by increasing GABA transmission to pyramidal neurons.

Vaccination is an effective strategy for preventing infectious diseases. Subunit vaccines offer more precise targeting and safer protection compared with traditional inactivated virus vaccines. However, due to their poor immunogenicity, subunit vaccines necessitate the use of adjuvants to stimulate the immune system.

Diammonium glycyrrhizinate (DG), the medicinal form of glycyrrhizic acid, a principal constituent of licorice, has been clinically employed as a hepatoprotective agent; however, its protective effect against IO-induced liver injury and underlying molecular mechanisms remain elusive.
Purpose: The aim of the present study is to investigate the hepatoprotective effect of DG against IO-induced liver injury with a focus on the gut-liver axis.
Aims: Lewis antigen plays an important role in the progression of gastric cancer (GC), FUT3 is a key enzyme in the synthesis of Lewis antigen, but the molecular mechanism of its promotion of GC progression remains unclear.
Main Methods: We used Lea-antibody capturing coupled with mass spectrometry to identify the target proteins of FUT3, immunofluorescence (IF), molecular biology and cell function experiments were conducted to clarify the molecular mechanism of FUT3 promoting the migration and invasion of GC cells by regulating Lea glycosylation on ITGA6 and GLG1.
Key Findings: FUT3 promote migration and invasion of GC cells.
Here, a photoelectrochemical (PEC) immunosensor based on the FJU-200@CdSe heterostructure was developed for epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) detection. This is the first application of FJU-200 in PEC. After modification using CdSe quantum dots (QDs), FJU-200 and CdSe QDs formed an S-scheme heterostructure due to the interleaved energy band structure and the difference in Fermi energy (Ef) levels, which generated an efficient and stable PEC signal.

The multi-drug resistance of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and complex wound microenvironment challenge the repair of MRSA infected wound. Herein, in this study, α-tocopherol modified glycol chitosan (TG) nanoparticles encapsulated with phytochemical rhein (Rhein@TG NPs) were prepared for comprehensive anti-infection and promotion of MRSA infected wound healing. Rhein@TG NPs could not only specifically release rhein in the infection site in response to low pH and lipase of infectious microenvironment, but also up-regulated M1 macrophage polarization in the infection stage, thus achieving synergistically bacterial elimination with low possibility of developing resistance.

Objectives: The aim of the present study was to explore the typical metabolites and mechanisms underlying the decreased fertility related with metabolic syndrome.
There is a relative scarcity of large-scale population studies investigating the relationship between the insulin resistance index of homeostasis model assessment (HOMA-IR) and vascular damage. Therefore, we assessed the association between HOMA-IR and vascular damage in adults aged 18 years and older in China. A total of 17,985 research subjects were included.

Raw data from TCGA, GTEx and TIMER databases were utilized to comprehensively analyze GPC-1 expression landscape in pan-cancer, and the biological function of GPC-1 was investigated in liver cancer cells. The results revealed that GPC-1 is highly expressed in HCC, negatively correlated with survival, and also positively correlated with immune infiltration and clinical stage.

Phytochemical-based nanoplatform is a promising emerging approach for treatment of biofilm infection. However, their therapeutic efficacy was restricted by the low drug loading capacity and lack of selectivity.

Numerous studies have shown that AURKB promotes tumor development by phosphorylating downstream substrates. However, the functional effects and regulatory mechanisms of AURKB on clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) progression remain largely unknown.

However, limited evidence is available regarding intraoperative glycemic thresholds in cardiac surgery. The aim of this study was to explore the association between peak intraoperative blood glucose and postoperative AKI, and determine the cut-off values for intraoperative glucose concentration associated with an increased risk of AKI.

Extracting vanadium (V) from vanadium slag (VS) by the traditional roasting-leaching process has disadvantages of high energy consumption and high poisonous gases emission. In this work, a green and efficient route was developed to extract V from VS without roasting by electro-oxidation combined with ultrasound cavitation (EOUC) intensification in sulfuric acid solution. The leaching parameters (e.
