Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is the most common type of thyroid cancer, and patients with the BRAF mutation often exhibit aggressive tumor behavior. Here, we identified Arylsulfatase I (ARSI) as a gene whose expression was significantly upregulated in BRAF PTC and was associated with poor prognosis. High ARSI expression correlated with advanced disease stage, BRAF mutation, and worse overall survival in PTC patients.

Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a common rheumatic disease that most commonly affects joints and negatively impacts individuals' health-related quality of life (HRQoL). Although some studies have explored HRQoL of RA patients, existing studies treated RA patients as a homogeneous group based on their overall HRQoL and ignore the heterogeneity of patients' HRQoL patterns. This study aimed to identify subgroups of RA patients based on their HRQoL and variables associated with group membership.

  • Salt substitutes are a potential strategy to reduce sodium intake and increase potassium, aiming to lower blood pressure in China; however, their real-world benefits remain unclear.
  • A study involving nearly 5,000 participants over a year found that those using salt substitutes had lower sodium excretion and higher potassium levels compared to those restricting salt, although blood pressure control was similar between both groups.
  • Results suggested that salt substitutes might improve sodium and potassium levels, though not necessarily blood pressure, particularly with lower potassium content substitutes.
