In the current study, for the purpose of achieving cost-efficient fabrication of a PDRC polymeric material, a microporous polymeric coating is prepared by a novel "inverse emulsion"-"breath figure" (Ie-BF) method using water droplets as pore-formation template, and the porous morphologies of both the surface and bulk layer can be dynamically manipulated by tuning the emulsion composition as well as environmental conditions. Therefore, the solar reflectivity of the Ie-BF coating can be efficiently tuned within a rather wide range (21-91%) by facile modulation of porosity and thickness.

The large SS leads to nonscalable voltage, significant leakage, and power consumption, particularly at short channels, making transistor scaling an intimidating challenge. In recent decades, an array of steep-slope transistors has been proposed; none is close to an ideal switch with ultimately abrupt switching (SS ∼ 0 mV/dec) between the binary logic states.

Synaptic plasticity plays a critical role in the expression power of brain neural networks. Among diverse plasticity rules, synaptic scaling presents indispensable effects on homeostasis maintenance and synaptic strength regulation. In the current modeling of brain-inspired spiking neural networks (SNN), backpropagation through time is widely adopted because it can achieve high performance using a small number of time steps.

Droughts have been implicated as the main driver behind recent vegetation die-off and are projected to drive greater mortality under future climate change. Understanding the coupling relationship between vegetation and drought has been of great global interest. Currently, the coupling relationship between vegetation and drought is mainly evaluated by correlation coefficients or regression slopes.

Currently, the most used prognostic models are the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) and International Extranodal Lymphoma Study Group (IELSG) scores; however, their predictive effects are changing with increasing incidence and changing treatment regimens. A growing body of evidence has demonstrated that inflammatory and nutritional markers are factors that can determine tumor prognosis.

Methods: This retrospective study included 114 patients with HGGs diagnosed with LMS from August 1, 2014, to July 30, 2021, at our institution. Clinical, radiological, pathological, and outcome data were collected.
The recently unfolded ferroionic phenomena in 2D van der Waals (vdW) copper-indium-thiophosphate (CuInP S or CIPS) have received widespread interest as they allow for dynamic control of conductive switching properties, which are appealing in the paradigm-shift computing. The intricate couplings between ferroelectric polarization and ionic conduction in 2D vdW CIPS facilitate the manipulation and dynamic control of conductive behaviors. However, the complex interplays and underlying mechanisms are not yet fully explored and understood.

There are multiple methods available for natural capital accounting, many of which are inconsistent with each other in accounting items. Another common defect is an inability to represent both physical and monetary quantities.

Donkeys are indispensable livestock in China because they have transport function and medicinal value. With the popularization of artificial insemination on donkeys, semen cryopreservation technology has gradually become a research hotspot. Seminal plasma is a necessary medium for transporting sperm and provides energy and nutrition for sperm.

This study seeks to assess the ecological sustainability response to the high increase demand for WEF resources in well-developed African countries. The study developed new measurement metrics for the WEF production system, including three indicators of ecological footprint (EF), ecological biocapacity (EBC), and eco-balance.

In this work, user-friendly sulfinates have been exploited as an efficient sulfenylating reagent in the C-S couplings through visible-light-induced photo/nickel dual catalysis under base- and external reductant-free conditions. A large number of aryl sulfide products were accessed with high selectivity and high tolerance of various functionalities.

The results indicate that with an increase in the specimen age, the peak stress, peak strain, ultimate strain, elastic modulus, peak secant modulus, strain ductility coefficient, and energy-dissipation coefficient of the prism specimens gradually improved. Additionally, a comparison of the test results of cementitious grout specimens and concrete specimens with the same age reveals that the peak stress, peak strain, and ultimate strain of cementitious grout specimens were greater than that of concrete specimens, the elastic modulus and peak secant modulus of the specimens were less than that of concrete specimens, and the strain ductility coefficient and energy-dissipation coefficient show no consistent conclusions with respect to the material type.

The transformation from silent to functional synapses is accompanied by the evolutionary process of human brain development and is essential to hardware implementation of the evolutionary artificial neural network but remains a challenge for mimicking silent to functional synapse activation. Here, we developed a simple approach to successfully realize activation of silent to functional synapses by controlled sulfurization of chemical vapor deposition-grown indium selenide crystals. The underlying mechanism is attributed to the migration of sulfur anions introduced by sulfurization.

A mild transition-metal- and photosensitizer-free photoredox system based on the combination of NaI and PPh was found to enable highly selective reduction of nitroarenes. This protocol tolerates a broad range of reducible functional groups such as halogen (Cl, Br, and even I), aldehyde, ketone, carboxyl, and cyano. Moreover, the photoredox catalysis with NaI and stoichiometric PPh provides also an alternative entry to Cadogan-type reductive amination when -nitrobiarenes were used.

However, the controlled degradation of transient electronics under environmentally benign conditions remains a challenge. In this work, the tunable degradation of transient electronics including passive resistor devices and active memory devices was realized by photodegradable thin polymer films comprising fullerene derivatives, [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl esters (PCBM).
