As cervical cancer (CC) caused more than 300,000 deaths in the world, it is urgent to identify therapeutic targets to improve survival. Though RUNX1 is overexpressed in CC, its specific role and underlying molecular mechanisms remain incompletely understood. Here we presented that RUNX1 was upregulated in CC and associated with poor prognosis.

By A-site chemical substitution with lower valence state Na, an isostructural compound NaCuFeReO with both A- and B-site ordered quadruple perovskite structures in -3 symmetry was prepared using high-pressure and high-temperature techniques. The X-ray absorption study demonstrates the valence states to be Cu, Fe, and Re.

In recent years, extracellular vesicles (EVs) derived from mesenchymal stem cells have garnered significant attention for their beneficial potentials in immune modulation and tissue repair. This study aims to evaluate the therapeutic effects and underlying mechanisms of EVs derived from lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-pretreated periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs) in mice with colitis.

We have developed a simple and mild photochemical process for the reductive denitration of nitroarenes under transition-metal-free conditions. This method is compatible with a broad range of functional groups, providing a practical and efficient approach for converting nitroarenes into denitrated arenes. The utility of this protocol is demonstrated through the prompt synthesis of dibenzoxepane.

The <100> oriented single-crystalline Zirconium Carbide (ZrC) nanowires were controllably synthesized on a graphite substrate by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) with optimized growth parameters involving Zirconium tetrachloride (ZrCl), flow of methane (CH), and growth temperature. The length of nanowires is above 10 µm while the diameter is smaller than 100 nm. A single ZrC nanowire was picked up and fixed on a tungsten tip for field emission measurement.

This study investigated the simultaneous removal of excess nutrients and PPCP contaminants by developing a novel woodchip bioreactor and biochar (B) treatment system. The result revealed that woodchip bioreactors could effectively remove nitrate via a denitrification process and adsorb some PPCPs.

The diversity of energy storage mechanisms means that various electrode materials can provide unique benefits for specific applications, highlighting the growing trend towards nanocomposite electrodes. Typically, these nanocomposite electrodes combine pseudocapacitive materials with carbon-based materials to form heterogeneous structural composites, often requiring complex multi-step preparation processes.

Transient receptor potential melastatin 7 (TRPM7) has been emerged as a potent drug target for immunomodulation with ion conductance and kinase activities. The research is projected to characterize the influences of TRPM7 on the course of ulcerative colitis (UC) and dissect the latent response mechanisms. The in vivo murine model and in vitro cell model of UC were both stimulated by DSS.

The current study aimed to validate the feasibility and efficacy of CNPs in tracking sentinel lymph nodes (SLNs) in patients with early vulvar cancer.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed patients with vulvar cancer at our institution from January 2016 to April 2022 who were pathologically diagnosed and underwent SLNB or inguinofemoral lymphadenectomy (IFLND).

The degree of substitution in the cross-linked starch was determined by the iodine absorption method. Scanning electron microscopy, particle size measurement, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and x-ray diffraction (XRD) were used to characterize the structure of modified tapioca starch at different substitution degrees.

The five WGs are connected by space-varying cylindrical scatterers, and the coupling between two adjacent WGs is determined by two Gaussian pulses with a certain delay. Since the evolution process of acoustic waves can adiabatically follow the dark state, the coupler could have a broadband and stable performance.

However, the combined effects of abiotic photoaging and biofilm-loading on mask-derived MPs as carriers of metal ions are not clear. We investigated the Pb(Ⅱ) adsorption onto polypropylene (PP) and polyurethane (PU) mask-derived MPs treated by photoaging, biofilm-loading, and both combinations, evaluating the composite risks.

This study involved 4211 individuals with a history of stroke or hypertension who participated in the Salt Substitute and Stroke Study (SSaSS) from 120 villages in Shanxi Province. The aim of this study was to investigate the differences in major adverse cardiovascular events and blood pressure changes between the salt substitute and the regular salt group in the subgroups of participants taking different antihypertensive medications.

Ultrafast electron pulses, generated through femtosecond photoexcitation in nanocathode materials, introduce high-frequency characteristics and ultrahigh temporal-spatial resolution to vacuum micro-nano electronic devices. To advance the development of ultrafast electron sources sensitive to polarized light, we propose an ultrafast pulsed electron source based on a vertical few-layer graphene cold cathode. This source exhibits selective electron emission properties for varying polarization angles, with high switching ratios of 277 (at 0°) and 235 (at 90°).

Herein, focusing on fabric structure and polymer composition, we investigated MNP generation characteristics, mechanisms, and potential risks of surgical polypropylene (PP) and fashionable polyurethane (PU) masks during their wearing and photoaging based on stereomicroscope, μ-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (μ-FTIR), and scanning electron microscope (SEM) techniques. Compared with new PP and PU masks (66 ± 16 MPs/PP-mask, 163 ± 83 MPs/PU-mask), single- and multiple-used masks exhibited remarkably increased MP type and abundance (600-1867 MPs/PP-mask, 607-2167 MPs/PU-mask).
