Bone marrow‑derived mesenchymal stem cells (BM‑MSCs) have been used in experimental research and clinical trials for heart function restoration and cardiomyocyte regeneration. However, due to a hostile microenvironment created by ischemia, hypoxia and pro‑inflammatory factors, the survival rate of implanted BM‑MSCs remains low. Therefore, strategies that can promote BM‑MSC survival and prevent apoptosis are required.

The complete chloroplast genome of an important medical fern has been sequenced. Its genome is 151,699 bp in length with a pair of inverted repeats (IRs, 23,875 bp), separated by a small single copy region (SSC, 21,625 bp) and a large single copy region (LSC, 82,324 bp). It contains 132 genes, covering 88 protein coding genes, 35 tRNA genes, eight rRNA genes, and one pseudogene.

We assessed pregnancy outcomes in DM and PM patients compared with the general obstetric population.
Methods: The Nationwide Inpatient Sample (NIS) (1993-2007) was used to identify delivery-associated hospitalizations in women with DM or PM (DM/PM, n = 853).

Background: Student-athletes (SAs) have an increased skin cancer risk on account of significant ultraviolet exposure; however, their sun-protective practices are suboptimal. A novel program, Stanford University Network for Sun Protection, Outreach, Research, and Teamwork (SUNSPORT), was designed to target SAs, coaches, and athletic trainers (ATs).
Objective: To measure the impact of educational intervention on sun protection beliefs and practices of SAs.

We found that the specificity of one International Classification of Disease (9th edition) code in predicting abnormal semen parameters was 92.
This study is to investigate the frequencies of T-helper (Th)22, Th17 and Th1 cells and the levels of related cytokines in subchondral bone marrow in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Bone marrow and peripheral blood samples were collected from RA, osteoarthritis (OA) patients and healthy controls. The frequencies of Th22, Th17, and Th1 cells were examined by flow cytometry.
