Article Synopsis
  • * TNFAIP8 expression was found to be significantly higher in IDC tissues compared to nearby noncancerous tissues, and its levels correlate with critical factors like lymph node metastasis and cancer stage.
  • * Patients with higher levels of TNFAIP8 had a shorter survival time, suggesting it plays a role in tumor progression and may serve as a new biomarker for prognosis in IDC cases.

Article Synopsis
  • The study focused on the expression levels of the CXCR4 protein across five different molecular subtypes of breast cancer using paraffin-embedded tissue samples.
  • It was conducted on specimens from the Affiliated Third Hospital of Harbin Medical University collected between 2007 and 2009, with subtypes including basal-like, normal breast, luminal A, luminal B, and C-erbB-2 (+).
  • Results showed that CXCR4 protein expression was highest in the basal-like subtype and lowest in luminal A, with significant differences found between subtypes and in relation to C-erbB-2 expression, tumor stage, and lymph node metastasis.

D-limonene is recognized as a potential chemotherapeutic agent, however, the details of this mechanism remain unclear. In this study, we investigated the effects of d-limonene on colon cancer cell viability and its potential mechanism of action in vitro. After 48 h of treatment, d-limonene suppressed the viability of LS174T cells in a dose-dependent manner and caused a dose-dependent apoptotic cell death.
