This study aimed to determine the expression levels of the autophagy markers Beclin-1 and p62 in patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and explore the association between autophagy and disease prognosis. The expression of Beclin-1 and p62 was investigated in patients with DLBCL and patients with reactive lymphoproliferative disease (RLD) using immunohistochemistry. The association between the clinical characteristics of patients with DLBCL and autophagy status was further analyzed.

The interaction between 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin [1,25(OH)2D3] and vitamin D receptor (VDR) plays a critical role in regulating cell proliferation and programmed cell death. The present study aimed to investigate the effects of 1,25(OH)2D3 in combination with arsenic trioxide (AsO) on the proliferation and cell cycle of a K562 leukemia cell line. K562 cells were treated with 100 nM 1,25(OH)2D3, 2.

Ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury is a main cause of acute kidney injury (AKI), and currently lacks effective therapies. This study is to investigate the level of Neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) and autophagy status during renal I/R injury, so as to determine whether the exogenous NGAL protein could exert a protective effect for I/R injury and explore the potential mechanisms. Forty male Wistar rats were randomly divided into the following four groups: Sham, I/R, pre-treated with NGAL before I/R (I/R + pre-N), treated with NGAL after I/R (I/R + post-N).

This study was designed to determine whether transplantation of allogeneic murine compact bone derived- mesenchymal stem cells (CB-MSCs) could prevent the development of IPS.
Methods: We tested the effects of CB-MSCs transplantation on IPS using an established murine model of C57BL/6 (H-2b)→BALB/c (H-2d).
The human cervical cancer oncogene (HCCR) has been found to be overexpressed in a variety of human cancers. However, the level of expression of HCCR and its biological function in gastric cancer are largely unknown. In this study, we evaluated HCCR expression in several gastric cancer cell lines and in one normal gastric mucosal cell line.

Methods: The protein expression levels of BCL-2, BAX, Caspase-3, and Survivin in SKM-1 cells treated with or without the co-polymer were measured by Western blot. The co-polymer-induced apoptosis rate of SKM-1 cells was measured by flow cytometry.
Background: Lenalidomide has emerged as an important treatment for patients with multiple myeloma (MM). However, its role in the management of MM is still controversial and requires further clarification. The aim of this study was to evaluate efficacy and safety of lenalidomide for MM using a meta-analysis.

However, the roles of HCCR in leukemia remain unclear. The present study is to investigate whether the expression levels of HCCR mRNA are associated with clinical prognosis in patients with acute leukemia (AL) and to explore the potential use as a biomarker for monitoring minimal residual disease (MRD) in AL.

However, the molecular mechanisms of action of HCCR2 in leukemia remain unclear. In this study, we used the RNA interference strategy to investigate the effects of HCCR2 knockdown in the K562 leukemia cell line, and to explore the potential mechanisms involved.

This study was purposed to investigate the expression of c-fes gene in leukemia patients and its clinical significance. The expression of c-fes mRNA in bone marrow cells from 121 cases of acute and chronic leukemia patients, and the expression of c-fes mRNA in peripheral blood mononuclear cells of 20 normal persons were detected by real time-quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RQ-PCR). The results showed that the level of c-fes mRNA in AML patients was higher than that in normal controls [(48.

Objective: To predict the chemotherapy response in Malignant lymphoma (ML) using 99Tcm-MIBI imaging, and to evaluate whether 99Tcm-MIBI scintigraphy parameters may have a precise predictive value in the expression of MDR1 and multidrug resistance-related-protein genes.
Methods: Twenty-three patients with histologically proved Malignant lymphoma underwent 99Tcm-MIBI scintigraphy before chemotherapy. Tumor-to-background [corrected] (T/B) ratios of both early (10 min) and late images (1 h) and the percentage rate of washout (WR%) were measured; The mRNA expressions of MDR1 and MRP were measured by semi-quantitative reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR); therapeutic reaction was evaluated by clinical and radiologic methods after completing 6 - 8 cycle chemotherapy with/without involved field radiotherapy for large tumors.

Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma (AILT) is a peripheral T-cell lymphoma often complicated autoimmune phenomena such as autoimmune cytopenia, and is a truly rare type of NHL. In order to investigate the clinical features, pathological manifestation of this lymphoma, and to explore its therapy protocol, a 37-years old patient with AILT was investigated. The routine blood examination, bone marrow smear, lymphonodus biopsy, Coombs test, flow cytometry for bone marrow mononuclear cells, serological test, immunochemistry method etc were performed for this patient.

To improve the recognition of immunoglobulin D multiple myeloma and explore its clinical feature and laboratory examination characteristics, so as to reduce the the missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis, a case of IgD multiple myeloma (MM) with myelofibrosis and bone marrow necrosis is reported. The clinical feature, treatment and prognosis of IgDlambda MM were discussed. Immunoglobulin D multiple myeloma is a rare disease and predominantly occurs in young male patients, which shows an aggressive clinical course with poor response to conventional treatment and unfavorable prognosis.

The Wilms' tumor gene, WT1 mRNA, has been used as a marker of minimal residual disease (MRD) for evaluating therapeutic efficacy of patients with leukemia or myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). This study was aimed to investigate whether in vitro IL-12 can lower WT1 gene expression in peripheral blood monuclear cells (PBMNC) from patients with leukemia or MDS.
