Human Wharton's jelly-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (hWJ-MSCs) are capable of differentiating into neural and astroglia-like cell types. However, a reliable means of inducing the selective differentiation of hWJ-MSCs into oligodendrocyte progenitor cells (OPCs) in vitro has not yet been established.
