[Three new diterpenoids from whole herb of Carpesium cernuum].

The study investigated the chemical constituents from the whole herb of Carpesium cernuum. Three new diterpenoids were isolated from the whole herb of C. cernuum by column chromatography on silica gel, Sephadex LH-20, and semi-preparative HPLC.

Two new furanoeremophilane sesquiterpenoids, namely, 6,9-dioxo-1,4-dihydroxy-furanoeremophilane () and 4α,5-epoxy-6,9-dioxo-1α-hydroxyl-furanoeremophilane (), and 10 known compounds were isolated from the whole plant of , and compound was converted to derivative . Their structures were determined based on extensive spectroscopic analysis. All compounds were evaluated by using five cancer cell lines: PC3, LNcap, A549, K562, and HEL.

Genotyping and serotyping profiles showed weak Jk presentation for previously typed as Jk donors.

Background And Objectives: Kidd blood group system consists of two major antigens: Jk and Jk . Both the antigens are absent in individuals typed as Jk and may develop clinically significant anti-Jk3 antibody. Screening donors for provision of Jk blood is an ongoing task for blood centres with Jk blood units kept frozen for specific requirements.
