Pseudorabies virus (PRV), the causative agent of Aujeszky's disease in swine, is a significant pathogen in veterinary medicine. Rab35 is a key regulatory GTPase involved in diverse cellular functions, including endocytic recycling, cytokinesis, and the regulation of the actin cytoskeleton. Although Rab35's roles in these processes are well-documented, its contribution to PRV replication dynamics had not been previously elucidated.

However, the role of VDR in pseudorabies virus (PRV) infection has not yet been explored. We discovered that VDR positively influenced PRV proliferation because knockdown of VDR impaired PRV proliferation, whereas its overexpression promoted it.

We aimed to identify causative protein biomarkers in CAD etiology based on proteomics and 2-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) design. Serum samples from 33 first-onset CAD patients and 31 non-CAD controls were collected and detected using protein array.

Rationale for the adoption of the illness-wellness continuum model includes the following: (a) the relationships among illness, health, and the nursing process are relevant in many health situations, and (b) levels of wellness are steeped in holistic principles of self-care, which are consistent with educational and clinical goals. The modified version of the illness-wellness continuum model can serve as the groundwork that prepares nursing students in a constantly changing workplace.

Purpose: Describe implementation strategies and outcomes to advance DEI from the Western Institute of Nursing (WIN).
Methods: In 2019, WIN committed to prioritizing DEI by updating its vision and mission.
The influence of Western Christian missionary nurses has been recorded in the history and development of nursing in China. The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of Christianity on Chinese nursing ethics. This documentary research used content analysis to investigate Christian value trends over 13 years (1920-1932) as reflected in a major bilingual Chinese nursing journal.

Objectives: This study aims to implement a clinical judgment model and case scenarios in classroom teaching to evaluate improvements in students' clinical judgment and critical thinking abilities.
Design: A mixed-method design.
Backgruound: Abnormal glucose metabolism is a risk factor for colorectal cancer (CRC). However, association of glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) with CRC risk remains under-reported. We examined the association between glycemic indicators (HbA1c, fasting plasma glucose, fasting insulin, 2-hour glucose, 2-hour insulin, and homeostasis model of risk assessment-insulin resistance index) and CRC risk using prospective analysis and meta-analysis.

Comparisons in perception of enhanced learning using online case-based studies were explored between students enrolled in ADN and BSN programs during medical-surgical courses as case-based learning can be used to support clinical decision making when clinical placements are lacking.
Methods: A survey was administered during medical-surgical classes for 110 BSN students and 79 ADN students.
Confirmatory tests for diagnosis of primary aldosteronism (PA) play an important role in sparing patients with a false-positive aldosterone-to-renin ratio (ARR) screening test from undergoing invasive subtyping procedures. We recommend that patients with a positive ARR test should undergo at least one confirmatory test to confirm or exclude the diagnosis of PA before directly proceeding to subtype studies, except for patients with significant PA phenotypes, including spontaneous hypokalemia, plasma aldosterone concentration >20 ng/dL plus plasma renin activity below a detectable level. Although a gold standard confirmatory test has not been identified, we recommend that saline infusion test and captopril challenge test, which were widely used in Taiwan.

Whether they are superior to conventional obesity indices in predicting colorectal cancer (CRC) remains unclear. We examined the associations of VAI and ABSI with CRC risk, and investigated their performance in discriminating CRC risk compared with conventional obesity indices in the Guangzhou Biobank Cohort Study.

BDNF is a crucial molecule that related to the pathology of depression, and it is the target of DNA methylation. DNA hydroxymethylation, an active demethylation process can convert 5-mC to 5-hmC by Tets catalyzation to regulate gene transcription.

Mouse meibomian gland epithelial cells were cultured in proliferation and differentiation medium, respectively. Cells were exposed to latanoprost, rosiglitazone (PPAR-γ agonist), or LG100268 (RXR-α agonist), respectively.

Background and Objectives: The living environment can manifest physiological responses in humans, with cohabiting couples often having similar health statuses. The aim of this study was to (1) examine the prevalence of the overactive bladder (OAB) with or without incontinence and (2) identify associated factors for OAB with and without incontinence (including environmental factors, such as living with a partner who has OAB) in middle-aged women. Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, the International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire Overactive Bladder (ICIQ-OBA) was administered to 970 couples.

: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a progressive neurological disorder characterized by an accumulation of Lewy bodies and degeneration of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra. The treatment options currently available are only partly effective and fail to restore the lost dopaminergic neurons or slow the progression. β2-adrenoceptors (β2AR) are widely expressed in various human tissues and organs, regulate many important metabolic functions, and are targeted for treatment of various diseases.
