Family-centered care is recognized as the gold standard in pediatric healthcare practice. However, despite the acknowledgment of its benefits and importance, inconsistent and questionable implementation persists in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) without a consolidated understanding of healthcare professionals' experiences. Therefore, this review aims to explore and consolidate healthcare professionals' perspectives on parental participation in the NICU.

Multilineage differentiation potential of fibroblast-like stromal cells derived from human skin.

Adult stem cells that reside in adult tissues have been deemed to possess great potential for clinical application because of their capabilities of self-renewal and differentiation. However, the limitations such as infection risks and low isolation rate make the search for appropriate source to be continued. Here, we demonstrate isolation of progenitors from human foreskin tissue samples, which have fibroblast-like morphology and could be easily propagated for more than 50 passages.

In vitro differentiation of human placenta-derived multipotent cells into hepatocyte-like cells.

Multipotent cells isolated from human term placenta (placenta-derived multipotent cells [PDMCs]) have been known to be able to differentiate into mesodermal lineage cells, including adipocytes and osteoclasts. The low infection rate and young age of placenta compared with other tissue origins of adult stem cells make theses cells attractive target for cell-based therapy. However, the differentiation potential of PDMCs toward hepatic cells has not been evaluated yet.
