Background: The purpose of the present paper was to evaluate the clinical and chest radiographic features of pediatric patients with serologically proven Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (mycoplasma pneumonia).

Methods: The clinical records and chest radiographs of 39 consecutive patients (19 male, 20 female; age 3-13 years) with serologically positive IgG and IgM mycoplasma pneumonia were reviewed.

Results: More than 90% of patients presented with fever and cough and 48% of patients had leukocyte count >10,000/mm(3).

Inflammatory pseudotumors rarely occur in the spleen. We report such a case with characteristic computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings. A CT scan showed an isodense nodular mass with gradual mild enhancement on delayed-phase contrast-enhanced images.

We presented a case of a 63-year-old man with type 2 diabetes mellitus and end-stage renal disease on hemodialysis. Precontrast CT images showed atrophy of kidneys bilaterally and calcification of the abdominal aorta, small branches of bilateral renal arteries and small arteries of the pelvis, including the internal pudendal artery and penile artery. Postcontrast CT scans revealed a nonenhancing glans penis with a clear margin relative to normal tissue.

Introduction: Cerebral subarachnoid hemorrhage may result from rupture of saccular aneurysms at uncommon location [excluding the anterior communicating artery (ACOM)] of the anterior cerebral artery (ACA). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of helical computed tomography angiography (CTA) in detection and characterization of intracranial aneurysms at such uncommon locations before emergent surgical clipping.

Materials And Methods: Between 1998 and 2003, records for 50 consecutive patients who underwent emergent surgical clipping for intracranial aneurysms were reviewed.

A 31-year-old woman with epithelioid sarcoma of the thigh is presented. The patient had had a progressively growing mass in her left thigh for 4 months. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed a subcutaneous mass with a central area of hypointensity and serpiginous hyperintensity in the peripheral portion.

Introduction: The malignant transformation of an ovarian mature cystic teratoma is rare. We presented such a case of a 46-year-old woman with characteristic computed tomography (CT) findings.

Case Report: The patient had suffered from fullness and tenderness of the lower abdomen for one year.

Purpose: We aimed to determine the presence of the "shoulder" sign in prediction of pericolonic fat invasion on double-contrast barium enema (DCBE) studies in colorectal cancer.

Materials And Methods: Patients at our institution with apparent colorectal cancer were identified from a computer search of both radiological and surgical pathology records during a recent 30-month period. The presence of a shoulder sign was defined as a tumor margin having an abrupt transition from the intraluminal component to the adjacent normal mucosa, forming a shouldered edge on barium studies.

Osseous hemangiopericytoma is rare. We present a case of a 30-year-old woman with low-back pain with radiation to the left buttock for 1 month. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed a tumor mass with areas of serpentine signal void pattern in the sacrum suggestive of a vascular tumor.

Objective: We aimed to evaluate the appearance of chest radiographs in patients with severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and correlate these findings with clinical outcomes.

Materials And Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the initial radiograph and a series of follow-up chest radiographs in 26 patients who had symptoms and signs consistent with SARS. Twenty-five patients completed the full course of radiographs in the hospital.
