Ethylene regulates plant growth, development, and stress adaptation. However, the early signaling events following ethylene perception, particularly in the regulation of ethylene receptor/CTRs (CONSTITUTIVE TRIPLE RESPONSE) complex, remains less understood. Here, utilizing the rapid phospho-shift of rice OsCTR2 in response to ethylene as a sensitive readout for signal activation, we revealed that MHZ3, previously identified as a stabilizer of ETHYLENE INSENSITIVE 2 (OsEIN2), is crucial for maintaining OsCTR2 phosphorylation.

Introduction: Human brucellosis, a infection caused most common zoonosis in the world, remains a serious public health burden in China. chronic infection always causes immunosuppressive status and results in severe organ or tissue damages. The aim of this work was to study the role of the myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) in human chronic brucellosis.

Some studies were conducted to investigate a few zoonotic pathogens in Guangzhou, China, but no coinfections were investigated or specifically mentioned. Studies on the infections and the influencing factors of various zoonotic pathogens in along the Zengjiang River in Guangzhou have not been carried out.

Increasing soybean yield as well as improving seed quality is of great importance. Seed weight/size, oil and protein content are the three major traits determining seed quality, and seed weight also influences soybean yield.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFSeed size and weight are important factors that influence soybean yield. Combining the weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) of 45 soybean accessions and gene dynamic changes in seeds at seven developmental stages, we identified candidate genes that may control the seed size/weight. Among these, a PLATZ-type regulator overlapping with 10 seed weight QTLs was further investigated.

The ability to use eye movement signals as a feature in biometric recognition is a novel characteristic of biometric recognition technology. However, present technologies have not fully exploited the correlation features between eye movement signals. To address this, we propose an eye movement biometric recognition model that is based on recurrence plot encoding and the InceptionV3 model.

Here, through analysis of an ethylene-response mutant mhz9, we identified a glycine-tyrosine-phenylalanine (GYF) domain protein MHZ9, which positively regulates ethylene signaling at translational level in rice.

However, due to the implementation of control measures, the number of cases is decreasing. Based on the characteristics of leptospirosis cases in Guangzhou, China, between 1955 and 2020, we describe the changes and achievements in prevention and control management strategies over that period.

Previous studies have demonstrated the endocrine disrupting effect of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), but studies on the association between internal exposure of PAHs and thyroid volume are still scarce. In this work, we evaluated the association of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon internal exposure and urinary iodine concentration with thyroid volume in 590 school-age children without thyroid disease in Guangzhou, China.

This study aimed to analyse the correlation between scrub typhus incidence and potential factors and rank the importance of influential factors.
Methods: We collected monthly scrub typhus cases, meteorological variables, rodent density (RD), Normalised Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), and land use type in Guangzhou from 2006 to 2019.

Seed weight is usually associated with seed size and is one of the important agronomic traits that determine yield. Understanding of seed weight control is limited, especially in soybean plants. Here we show that Glycine max JASMONATE-ZIM DOMAIN 3 (GmJAZ3), a gene identified through gene co-expression network analysis, regulates seed-related traits in soybean.

Methods: In this study, we performed transcriptome analysis with a time series method to disclose the connection of the two metabolites in soybean.
Results: Our results reveal that melatonin and IAA treatments cause substantial overlaps in gene expression changes.

Rice is an important food crop in the world and the study of its growth and plasticity has a profound influence on sustainable development. Ethylene modulates multiple agronomic traits of rice as well as abiotic and biotic stresses during its lifecycle. It has diverse roles, depending on the organs, developmental stages and environmental conditions.

Ethylene plays essential roles in adaptive growth of rice (Oryza sativa). Understanding of the crosstalk between ethylene and auxin (Aux) is limited in rice. Here, from an analysis of the root-specific ethylene-insensitive rice mutant mao hu zi 10 (mhz10), we identified the tryptophan aminotransferase (TAR) MHZ10/OsTAR2, which catalyzes the key step in indole-3-pyruvic acid-dependent Aux biosynthesis.
