Methods: Multi-centre pre-operative MRI acquired between 2014 and 2020 in patients with IDH-wildtype unifocal WHO grade 4 GBM were retrospectively evaluated. WhiteStripe (WS), Nyul histogram matching (HM), and Z-score (ZS) ISTs were applied before radiomic feature (RF) extraction.
Background: This study assessed whether deep learning applied to routine outpatient chest X-rays (CXRs) can identify individuals at high risk for incident chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Methods: Using cancer screening trial data, we previously developed a convolutional neural network (CXR-Lung-Risk) to predict lung-related mortality from a CXR image. In this study, we externally validated CXR-Lung-Risk to predict incident COPD from routine CXRs.
Meningiomas are the most common primary intracranial tumors of adults. For meningiomas that progress or recur despite surgical resection and radiotherapy, additional treatment options are limited due to lack of proven efficacy. Meningiomas show recurring molecular aberrations, which may serve as predictive markers for systemic pharmacotherapies with targeted drugs or immunotherapy, radiotherapy or radioligand therapy.

In this study, we used whole-genome cell-free DNA (cfDNA) fragmentome and protein biomarker (CA-125 and HE4) analyses to evaluate 591 women with ovarian cancer, benign adnexal masses, or without ovarian lesions. Using a machine learning model with the combined features, we detected ovarian cancer with specificity >99% and sensitivity of 72%, 69%, 87%, and 100% for stages I-IV, respectively.

Lgr5+ cells in the crypt base constantly divide, pushing daughter cells upward along the crypt axis where they differentiate into specialized cell types. Coordinated execution of complex transcriptional programs is necessary to allow for the maintenance of undifferentiated stem cells while permitting differentiation of the wide array of intestinal cells necessary for homeostasis.
