Influence of residency discipline and seniority on traumatic musculoskeletal radiographs interpretation accuracy: a multicenter study.

Objectives: Imaging studies are a significant and integral part of the initial assessment of patients admitted to the emergency department. Developing imaging diagnostic abilities early in residency is of paramount importance. The purpose of this study was to evaluate and compare diagnosis accuracy of common musculoskeletal X-rays (XR) between residency disciplines and seniority.

Septic arthritis in children: Updated epidemiologic, microbiologic, clinical and therapeutic correlations.

Background: Septic arthritis (SA) is an infection characterized by significant epidemiologic and microbiologic differences between developed and developing regions and between age groups.

Objectives: To determine the epidemiologic, clinical, microbiologic and therapeutic aspects of pediatric SA in Southern Israel.

Methods: A retrospective case-series study based on the records of children <16 years of age admitted with SA at Soroka Medical Center, Beer-Sheva, during 2006-2013.

Comparison of early onset sepsis and community-acquired late onset sepsis in infants less than 3 months of age.

Background: We compared demographic and clinical characteristics of early-onset sepsis (EOS) and community-acquired late onset sepsis (CA-LOS) in infants.

Methods: Our medical center is the sole hospital in southern-Israel, enabling incidence calculations. EOS (<7 days) and CA-LOS (7-90 days) episodes recorded between 2007 and 2013 were reviewed.

Cystic echinococcosis in Southern Israel.

The aim of this retrospective, population-based study was to characterize demographically and clinically cystic-echinococcosis (CE) in southern Israel, between 2005 and 2012. Newly-diagnosed (nd-CE) and past-diagnosed (pd-CE, diagnosed before the study) cases were defined. Two populations live in southern-Israel, receiving medical treatment at a single hospital: the Jewish and the Bedouin populations (resembling resource-rich and resource-poor populations, respectively).
