Molecular cross-scale gridization and polygridization of organic π-backbones make it possible to install 0/1/2/3-dimensional organic wide-bandgap semiconductors (OWBGSs) with potentially ZnO-like fascinating multifunctionality such as optoelectronic and piezoelectronic features. However, gridization effects are limited to uncover, because the establishment of gridochemistry still requires a long time, which offers a chance to understand the effects with a theoretical method, together with data statistics and machine learning. Herein, we demonstrate a state-of-the-art 3D cubic nanogridon with a size of ∼2 × 2 × 1.

Metal-organic framework (MOF) membranes show great potential in the separation of acetylene mixtures. In this work, we have prepared ZIF-8 membranes on polyamide (PA) substrates for the highly selective separation of acetylene/methane and acetylene/carbon dioxide mixtures. The CH/CH and CH/CO mixtures can be successfully separated using the ZIF-8 membranes, with separation factors of 12.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to explore how hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) affects nails in children, particularly focusing on the occurrence and characteristics of nail changes after diagnosis.
  • A survey of 273 parents revealed that 20.5% of children experienced nail changes, which were more common in boys and typically occurred 1 to 2 months post-HFMD diagnosis, often lasting around 4 weeks.
  • Nail changes mainly appeared as onychomadesis and did not require any treatment, with no reported relapses or new nail issues after recovery.

Objective: Dysphagia is a common occurrence after anterior cervical spine surgery. The aim of this meta-analysis was to evaluate the incidence of dysphagia after ervical disc arthroplasty (CDA) compared with anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF).

Material And Methods: The electronic databases, including PubMed, EMBASE and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, were searched to identify the randomized controlled trials comparing CDA with ACDF.

Background: Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion is a standard surgical treatment for cervical radiculopathy and myelopathy, but reoperations sometimes are performed to treat complications of fusion such as pseudarthrosis and adjacent-segment degeneration. A cervical disc arthroplasty is designed to preserve motion and avoid the shortcomings of fusion. Available evidence suggests that a cervical disc arthroplasty can provide pain relief and functional improvements similar or superior to an anterior cervical discectomy and fusion.
