Methods: In addition to bioinformatic analyses, quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) was performed to assess DUXAP8, microRNA-378a-3p, FOXQ1 expression in colon cancer tissues, and clinical data were analyzed to determine the correlation between DUXAP8 expression and colon cancer patient outcomes. Nuclear/cytoplasmic RNA fractionation was utilized to analyze the subcellular distribution of DUXAP8.
Aconiti Lateralis Radix praeparata (also known as Fuzi in Chinese) has been extensively used in clinic. However, the toxicity issues limit the therapeutic range of Fuzi. Thus, a rapid and sensitive HPLC-MS/MS method was developed to simultaneously quantify and compare six active/toxic constituents in decocting extracts from four different processed Fuzi products and in rat plasma after oral administration of its decocting extracts.

Thus, there is a need for biomarkers for early and accurate identification of AD patients with high risk of development of ACLF and mortality. Soluble triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells-1 (sTREM-1) is released from activated innate immune cells and correlated with various inflammatory processes.

Methods: In this study, 3,758 participants (955 with advanced fibrosis and 2,803 with cirrhosis) from the CATCH-LIFE cohort in China were included. The relationships between different AST/ALT ratios and the risk of adverse 90-day outcomes (death or liver transplantation) were determined in patients with cirrhosis or hepatitis B virus (HBV)-associated advanced fibrosis, respectively.
Purpose: The knowledge, attitude, and practices (KAP) concerning antibiotics by healthcare students have the potential impact on controlling antibiotic abuse and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) growth. This study aims to evaluate the levels and explore the associated factors with KAP on antibiotic use and AMR in Chinese nursing students.
Methods: A cross-sectional survey using a self-administered questionnaire consisting of demographics and selected features and KAP on antibiotic use and AMR was conducted to measure KAP levels among nursing students at various universities in Hubei Province, China.
Pentatricopeptide repeat proteins are involved in mitochondrial both transcriptional and posttranscriptional regulation. Schizosaccharomyces pombe Ppr2 is a general mitochondrial translation factor that plays a critical role in the synthesis of all mitochondrial DNA-encoded oxidative phosphorylation subunits, which are essential for mitochondrial respiration. Our previous analysis showed that ppr2 deletion resulted in increased expression of iron uptake genes and caused ferroptosis-like cell death in S.

Atovaquone, known as an antimalarial drug, has emerged as a potential candidate for anti-cancer therapy. This study investigated atovaquone's effects on gastric cancer and its underlying mechanisms.

Rac GTPase activation protein 1 (RACGAP1) is a novel tumor promotor, whose detailed effect on gastric cancer remains to be further elucidated. Hence, this study identifies the action of RACGAP1 on gastric cancer and investigates the potential mechanism.

Methods: We enrolled eligible patients from 2 large, multicenter prospective cohorts.
Emission Trading System (ETS) is an innovative practice under the progress of green development in China. It is also an important method for China to achieve market-oriented environmental governance in ecological civilization construction. The ETS pilot policy has implemented for more than 10 years.

This experiment was designed to investigate whether miR-223-3p secreted in the serum of KD patients affects the proliferation and apoptosis of HCAECs in KD by regulating FOXP3.
Methods: Blood samples were collected in acute febrile phase of KD, after IVIG treatment, and from healthy controls.

Background: The treatment of diabetes-related foot complications is a clinical challenge. The underlying complicating factors of peripheral vascular disease render most diabetic foot ulcers asymptomatic until the ulcer fails to heal and becomes clinically distinct, constituting a significant cause of disability and even death in diabetic patients.
Objective: To evaluate the clinical efficacy of tibial transverse transport (TTT) in the treatment of patients with diabetic foot ulcers.

Background: The morbidity and mortality of sepsis are extremely high, which is a major problem plaguing human health. However, current drugs and measures for the prevention and treatment of sepsis have little effect. Sepsis-associated acute liver injury (SALI) is an independent risk factor for sepsis, which seriously affects the prognosis of sepsis.

Objective: to investigate the clinical features and risk factors of AoCLD and construct an effective prognostic nomogram model for older patients with AoCLD.
Methods: data from 3,970 patients included in the CATCH-LIFE study were used, including 2,600 and 1,370 patients in the training and validation sets, respectively.
Background: The accurate prediction of the outcome of hepatitis B virus-related acute-on-chronic liver failure (HBV-ACLF) is impeded by population heterogeneity. The study aimed to assess the impact of underlying cirrhosis on the performance of clinical prediction models (CPMs).
Methods: Using data from two multicenter, prospective cohorts of patients with HBV-ACLF, the discrimination, calibration, and clinical benefit were assessed for CPMs predicting 28-day and 90-day outcomes in patients with cirrhosis and those without, respectively.
