The genus have long been recognized as a source of structural novel, pharmaceutically relevant natural products. We reviewed the structures and activities of secondary metabolites isolated from the genus of from January 1995 to June 2024, and 280 compounds, including six major categories-terpenoids, alkaloids, polyketides, polyphenols, steroids, and other classes-are presented in this review. Among these metabolites, 196 were identified as new structures.

Accumulating evidence suggests that the gut microbiota modulates intestinal neurotransmitter metabolism and gut-to-brain signaling, shedding light on the crucial role of the gut microbiota in brain function and the pathogenesis of various neuropsychiatric diseases, such as major depression disorder (MDD), anxiety, addiction and Parkinson's disease (PD). Despite the exciting findings, the mechanisms underlying the modulation of neurotransmitter metabolism and function by the gut microbiota are still being elucidated.

Operation time, intraoperative blood loss, time to full weight-bearing activity, medical cost, ankle function, and ankle pain were compared between the 2 groups.
