Complete failure of eruption leads to impaction. Impacted teeth are more common in maxilla as compare to mandible. The impaction of permanent dentition is not uncommon but out of them, few permanent teeth are rarely impacted such as maxillary first molars.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective observational study of 44 patients with 51 lesions was carried out from year 2005 to 2020. MR images were reviewed for characteristics of carotid body tumor, and a score was given that was correlated with intra- and postoperative findings.
Introduction: Thyroglossal duct cyst (TGDC) is the most frequently encountered developmental anomaly in thyroid genesis with a reported incidence of 7% in the adult population. The cyst is known to develop anywhere along the pathway of thyroid descent but is more frequently seen in the infrahyoid neck in the midline. The incidence of malignancy in a TGDC is approximately 1%; a majority of these are papillary carcinomas.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFObjective: Literature regarding utility of Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT in insulinoma localization across various subgroups [benign/malignant/multiple endocrine neoplasia-1 (MEN-1) syndrome associated] remains scarce. In this study, the performance of Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT was compared with contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) and Ga-NODAGA-Exendin-4 PET/CT (whenever available) in an endogenous hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia (EHH) cohort.
Design: Retrospective audit.
Tissue transglutaminase (TG2), a multifunctional protein of the transglutaminase family, has putative transamidation-independent functions in aging-associated vascular stiffening and dysfunction. Developing preclinical models will be critical to fully understand the physiologic relevance of TG2's transamidation-independent activity and to identify the specific function of TG2 for therapeutic targeting. Therefore, in this study, we harnessed CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing technology to introduce a mutation at cysteine 277 in the active site of the mouse Tgm2 gene.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFPurpose: To evaluate the image quality of chest CT performed on dual-energy scanners using low contrast volume for routine chest (DECT-R) and pulmonary angiography (DECTPA) protocols.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective study included dual-energy CT scans of chest performed with low contrast volume in 84 adults (34M:50F; Age 69 ± 16 years: Weight 71 ± 16kg). There were 42 patients with DECT-R and 42 patients with DECT-PA protocols.
Purpose: To assess the frequency, appropriateness, and radiation doses associated with multiphase computed tomography (CT) protocols for routine chest and abdomen-pelvis examinations in 18 countries.
Materials And Methods: In collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency, multi-institutional data on clinical indications, number of scan phases, scan parameters, and radiation dose descriptors (CT dose-index volume; dose-length product [DLP]) were collected for routine chest (n = 1706 patients) and abdomen-pelvis (n = 426 patients) CT from 18 institutions in Asia, Africa, and Europe. Two radiologists scored the need for each phase based on clinical indications (1 = not indicated, 2 = probably indicated, 3 = indicated).
Purpose: To compare image quality and radiation doses for chest DECT acquired with dual-source and rapid-kV switching techniques.
Materials And Methods: Our institutional Review Board approved retrospective study included 97 patients (54 men, 43 women; 63 ± 14 years) who underwent contrast-enhanced chest DECT with both single source, rapid kV-switching (SS-DECT) and dual source (DS-DECT) techniques per standard of care departmental protocols. Reconstructed images from both scanners had identical section thickness and section interval for virtual monoenergetic and material decomposition iodine (MDI) images.
Background: To assess if radiomics can differentiate benign and malignant subsolid lung nodules (SSNs) on baseline or follow up chest CT examinations. If radiomics can differentiate between benign and malignant subsolid lung nodules, the clinical implications are shorter follow up CT imaging and early recognition of lung adenocarcinoma on imaging.
Materials And Methods: The IRB approved retrospective study included 36 patients (mean age 69 ± 8 years; 5 males, 31 females) with 108 SSNs (31benign, 77 malignant) who underwent follow up chest CT for evaluation of indeterminate SSN.
