Genomic screened homeobox 1 (Gsx1 or Gsh1) is a neurogenic transcription factor required for the generation of excitatory and inhibitory interneurons during spinal cord development. In the adult, lentivirus (LV) mediated Gsx1 expression promotes neural regeneration and functional locomotor recovery in a mouse model of lateral hemisection spinal cord injury (SCI). The LV delivery method is clinically unsafe due to insertional mutations to the host DNA.

Postoperative pulmonary complications (PPCs) are unexpected disorders that occur up to 30 days after surgery, affecting the patient's clinical status and requiring therapeutic intervention. Therefore, it becomes important to assess the patient preoperatively, as many of these complications can be minimized with proper perioperative strategies following a thorough preoperative checkup. Herein, we describe the PPCs and risk factors associated with developing PPCs in patients undergoing upper abdominal surgery.

Impact of COVID-19 outbreak on healthcare workers in a Tertiary Healthcare Center in India: a cross sectional study.

Numerous speculations have continually emerged, trying to explore the association between COVID-19 infection and a varied range of demographic and clinical factors. Frontline healthcare workers have been the primary group exposed to this infection, and there have been limited global research that examine this cohort. However, while there are a few large studies conducted on Indian healthcare professionals to investigate their potential risk and predisposing factors to COVID-19 infection, to our knowledge there are no studies evaluating the development of long COVID in this population.

Tension pyopneumothorax caused by Burkholderia cenocepacia: a rare case report in an immunocompetent individual.

Tension pyopneumothorax is a medical emergency that occurs when air and pus build up in the pleural space. This case report describes a 47-year-old diabetic female who presented with tension pyopneumothorax due to Burkholderia cenocepacia. The patient was successfully treated with a 24-French tube thoracostomy and antibiotics.

We present the third case of idiopathic PPFE from India, as well as the second ante-mortem diagnosis. An unexpected and unusual cause of pulmonary hypertension in a patient with hypersensitivity pneumonitis: a partial anomalous pulmonary venous connection causing pulmonary artery hypertension.
