Objective: To identify valid parameters of heart rate variability (HRV) and musculoskeletal movements based on ballistocardiography data, which allow predicting the sleep efficiency (SE) index in healthy individuals and patients with insomnia.
Material And Methods: Ten healthy individuals and 14 patients with chronic insomnia were examined using polysomnography and ballistocardiography. A regression analysis of the data was carried out, as well as a reliability check of the resulting mathematical model.
Background: Although considerable variation in the reporting and definition of outcomes in cardio-obstetrics studies is acknowledged, the extent of this variation has not been documented. The primary objective of this systematic review was to highlight this variation and inform the development of a Core Outcome Set for studies on Cardiac disease in Pregnancy (COSCarP).
Methods: Medline, Embase, Web of Science and Cochrane Central databases were searched from 1980 to 2018 to identify all English-language publications on pregnancy and heart disease.
Computerized cognitive training (CCT) is a rapidly developing area of cognitive rehabilitation at the intersection of information technology and healthcare, the constantly updated results of which can be successfully translated into practical application in clinical medicine and in particular in gerontology. The basis of CCT, as a non-invasive method of influencing the functional activity of the brain and the processes of neuroplasticity, is software for stimulating cognitive functions in order to improve their productivity. The level of scientific and practical interest in CCP technology is growing rapidly.

Despite the establishment of clinical practice guidelines offering recommendations for early and effective PAS diagnosis and treatment, antepartum diagnosis of PAS remains a challenge. This ultimately risks poor mental health and poor physical maternal and neonatal health outcomes.

We composed a 3' RACE-based RNA sequencing panel for the analysis of gene rearrangements, detection of activating mutations located within , and genes, and measurement of the expression of and transcripts. This NGS panel was utilized for the molecular profiling of 168 biliary tract carcinomas (BTCs), including 83 intrahepatic cholangiocarcinomas (iCCAs), 44 extrahepatic cholangiocarcinomas (eCCAs), and 41 gallbladder adenocarcinomas (GBAs).

Methods: This quality improvement initiative was developed by multiple stakeholders at an academic hospital in a Canadian urban centre. The intervention consisted of a three-pronged approach: (1) patient and provider education, (2) perioperative multimodal analgesia, and (3) a targeted opioid reduction strategy.
Trimethylglycine (glycine betaine, GB) is an important organic osmolyte that accumulates in various plant species in response to environmental stresses and has significant potential as a bioactive agent with low environmental impact. It is assumed that the hydration of GB is playing an important role in the protective mechanism. The hydration and aggregation properties of GB have not yet been studied in detail at the atomistic level.

In this work, aqueous solutions of sodium diclofenac are investigated, which, like most medicinal compounds, is poorly soluble in water. Classical MD modeling of an aqueous solution of diclofenac sodium showed equilibrium between the hydrated anion and the hydrated dimer of the diclofenac anion.

The Russian government has since taken measures to reduce availability of non-beverage alcohol. Yet, some types of non-beverage alcohol still remain available for consumers.

The studied crystals consist of electron-rich and electron-deficient compounds, which form infinite stacks (columns) of heterodimers. The sublimation enthalpy of crystals has been evaluated by DFT periodic calculations, while intermolecular interactions have been characterized by Bader analysis of the periodic electronic density.

On the other hand, [TcH(CO)] becomes the major product when the reaction with alkali is combined with the extraction into hexane. The molecular structure of TcH(CO), determined by SCXRD, is composed of the Tc(CO) fragment bound to the Tc(CO) fragment via the hydrogen bridge and weak metal-metal bond.

It also describes the synthesis of mitochondria-targeted antioxidants - uncouplers of oxidative phosphorylation - based on fluorescent dyes.

The formation of complexes of these compounds with 70S E. coli ribosomes was studied by measuring the fluorescence polarization depending on the ribosome amount at constant concentration of the fluorescent substance.

The ability of the compounds to form ribosomal complexes was studied by displacement of the fluorescent erythromycin analog from its complex with E. coli ribosomes.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFUsing a method of static simulation, a series of erythromycin A analogs was designed with aldehyde functions introduced instead of one of the methyl substituents in the 3'-N-position of the antibiotic that was potentially capable of forming a covalent bond with an amino group of one of the nucleotide residues of the 23S rRNA in the ribosomal exit tunnel. Similar interaction is observed for antibiotics of the tylosin series, which bind tightly to the large ribosomal subunit and demonstrate high antibacterial activity. Binding of novel erythromycin derivatives with the bacterial ribosome was investigated with the method of fluorescence polarization.

Their structures were determined using single-crystal X-ray diffraction, and the hydrogen-bond network topology was studied. Thermodynamic characteristics of salicylic acid cocrystal sublimation were obtained experimentally.

All of these agents acted as antimutagens-anticarcinogens, reducing the expression of genes involved in carcinogenesis (genes of families MMP, TIMP, and IAP and G-protein genes) in a tumor cell.

Comparative analysis of the allelic diversity showed that the gene pools of these two types of durum wheat, having different life styles, were considerably different. For the modern spring durum wheat cultivars, a certain reduction of the genetic diversity was observed compared to the cultivars bred in the 20th century.
