Luminal water imaging (LWI) is a new MRI T mapping technique that has been developed with the aim of diagnosis of prostate carcinoma (PCa). This technique measures the fractional amount of luminal water in prostate tissue, and has shown promising preliminary results in detection of PCa. To include LWI in clinical settings, further investigation on the accuracy of this technique is required.

Materials And Methods: In all, 17 patients with prostate cancer were examined with a 3D multiecho spin echo sequence at 3T prior to undergoing radical prostatectomy. Maps of seven MR parameters, called N, T , T , A , A , geometric mean T time (gmT ), and luminal water fraction (LWF), were generated using nonnegative least squares (NNLS) analysis of the T decay curves.
