Isolated Brain Cysts in Children Afflicted with Congenital Cytomegalovirus.

In our clinic, isolated brain cysts identified via early ultrasound are considered as central nervous system involvement in infants with children with congenital cytomegalovirus (cCMV). All infants were diagnosed with caudothalamic or subependymal cysts. When treated according to the cCMV protocol, these patients have an excellent prognosis and no neurological sequelae.

is a relatively uncommon pathogen that causes urinary tract infections (UTIs) in healthy children. Most enterococcal infections occur in patients with risk factors such as anatomical or functional urinary tract anomalies, also known as CAKUT (congenital anomalies of kidney and urinary tract). Children who are suspected of having UTIs and who have certain risk factors are often treated specifically for enterococcal infection as part of their empiric regimen.

Yoga as an intervention to promote bone and mental health in adolescent females with anorexia nervosa: a pilot study.

In this randomized pilot study, we examined the effects of yoga intervention on axial and peripheral bone mineral density (BMD), disordered eating cognitions, anxiety, and depression in adolescent girls with anorexia nervosa (AN). Fifteen young women aged 13-18 years with AN or atypical AN were randomized to either a Yoga group ( = 7), including twice-weekly yoga for 24 weeks plus standard outpatient care, or Non-Yoga group ( = 8), who received standard outpatient care alone. Data from anthropometrics, mental health and eating behavior questionnaires, dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry, and peripheral quantitative computed tomography measurements were obtained at baseline and 6 months.

Clinical impact of biofire gastrointestinal panel testing for hospitalised children with acute gastroenteritis.

Aim: To investigate the clinical impact of BioFire FilmArray Gastrointestinal Panel (FGP) testing in real-life diarrhoeal episodes of hospitalised paediatric patients.

Methods: Children hospitalised between October 2018 and September 2020 for whom stool specimens for FGP were submitted at the clinician's discretion were retrospectively observed. For each episode, demographics, clinical information and stool tests were collected.
