However, the efficacy of ICIs for solid tumors with amplification identified by comprehensive genomic profiling (CGP) has been unclear. We here examined ICI efficacy for solid tumors with amplification identified by CGP in a national database.

Combined Exercise and Nutritional Therapy Improves Physical Functions and Activities of Daily Living in Patients With Multimorbidity Undergoing Convalescent Rehabilitation: A Case Report.

Aim: Spouses experience conflicting emotions when caring for partners with severe mental illnesses. They can have negative emotions while also regarding caregiving as positive and may develop a better marital relationship through the caregiving process. This study investigated factors affecting the negative and positive emotions of husbands and wives acting as caregivers of their spouses with severe mental illnesses.

Process Development of a Liquid-Gated Graphene Field-Effect Transistor Gas Sensor for Applications in Smart Agriculture.

A compact, multi-channel ionic liquid-gated graphene field-effect transistor (FET) has been proposed and developed in our work for on-field continuous monitoring of nitrate nitrogen and other nitrogen fertilizers to achieve sustainable and efficient farming practices in agriculture. However, fabricating graphene FETs with easy filling of ionic liquids, minimal graphene defects, and high process yields remains challenging, given the sensitivity of these devices to processing conditions and environmental factors. In this work, two approaches for the fabrication of our graphene FETs were presented, evaluated, and compared for high yields and easy filling of ionic liquids.

Methods: Novel method is a reconstruction with a long and narrow gastric tube with widening of the proximal side created by linear stapler, and esophagogastrostomy is performed by linear stapler. In conventional method, esophagogastrostomy is performed by a circular stapler.

Background & Aims: Depression symptoms are both prevalent and associated with poor prognosis in patients with convalescent stroke. Therefore, the improvement of depression symptoms is important for patients with convalescent stroke. This study aimed to examine whether malnutrition diagnosed using the Global Leadership Initiative on Malnutrition (GLIM) criteria and its components are associated with improvements in depression symptoms in patients with stroke undergoing rehabilitation.

Switching disease-modifying therapies from sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor modulators to natalizumab or dimethyl fumarate restores immune responses after SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccination in patients with multiple sclerosis.

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate whether switching disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) from sphingosine-1 phosphate (S1P) receptor modulators to either natalizumab (NTZ) or dimethyl fumarate (DMF) could restore the effectiveness of SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccination in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS).

Methods: This study included 9 controls and 33 patients with MS: 7 patients treated with DMF, 7 patients treated with NTZ, 9 patients treated with S1P receptor modulators, and 10 patients who had switched DMTs from S1P receptor modulators to DMF or NTZ by the second vaccine dose. The patients who had switched DMTs were classified into two groups, based on whether their lymphocyte counts were above or below 1000/μL at the time of vaccination.

This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of early rehabilitation in patients with femoral neck fractures admitted to acute care settings in Japan using the data registered with the Japan Association of Rehabilitation Databases (JARD). We included data for 401 patients (out of 3088 patients) aged ≥ 65 years (85 males, 316 females) from nine hospitals who sustained a femoral neck fracture between July 2005 and September 2015. Using the number of days until surgery or the number of days until the start of rehabilitation or both as the explanatory variables, and the indoor mobility at discharge as the outcome variable, we calculated the adjusted rate ratio (ARR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) using Poisson regression analysis (age, sex, cognitive impairment, concurrent symptoms, and previous history of fracture adjusted as covariates).

Introduction: We have previously reported that overexpression of visinin-like protein 1 (VSNL1) is frequently observed in advanced colorectal adenocarcinomas and correlates with poorer prognosis. In this study, we determined the levels of VSNL1 expression in the earlier stages of colorectal tumors including adenomas and adenocarcinomas, and attempted to clarify the functional significance of VSNL1 overexpression in colorectal carcinogenesis.

However, humans masticate and swallow foods with various consistencies, forms, and amounts, without conscious awareness. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the difference in the behavior of masticatory and swallowing muscles during spontaneous versus cued swallowing through a series of mastication and swallowing processes by evaluating surface electromyogram (sEMG) signals.

Association of immune-related expression profile with sensitivity to chemotherapy in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.

Neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) followed by surgery is one of the standard therapeutic approaches in Japan for patients with locally advanced esophageal carcinoma. Recently, the JCOG1109 study revealed that NAC with docetaxel, cisplatin and 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) (DCF-NAC) is superior to NAC with cisplatin and 5-FU, and has now become the standard preoperative chemotherapy. Using a microarray system, we have previously investigated the expression profiles of endoscopic biopsy samples from patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) before DCF-NAC (preNAC) and identified 17 molecules as biomarkers predictive of a pathologically complete response to DCF-NAC.
