Background: Amplification of the programmed cell death-ligand 1 gene () is highly prevalent and associated with a high response rate to immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in lymphomas, and is also a potential biomarker for ICI treatment of solid tumors. However, the efficacy of ICIs for solid tumors with amplification identified by comprehensive genomic profiling (CGP) has been unclear. We here examined ICI efficacy for solid tumors with amplification identified by CGP in a national database.

Therefore, in this report, we describe a case of combined rehabilitation and nutritional therapies with favorable outcomes in a patient with duplicated musculoskeletal and cerebrovascular diseases. An 80-year-old female patient was admitted to a convalescent rehabilitation ward after undergoing left total knee arthroplasty.

The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between improved dysphagia and increased trunk muscle mass in older patients with stroke.
Research Methods & Procedures: This retrospective, case-control study enrolled patients with stroke aged ≥65 years.
Aim: Spouses experience conflicting emotions when caring for partners with severe mental illnesses. They can have negative emotions while also regarding caregiving as positive and may develop a better marital relationship through the caregiving process. This study investigated factors affecting the negative and positive emotions of husbands and wives acting as caregivers of their spouses with severe mental illnesses.

However, fabricating graphene FETs with easy filling of ionic liquids, minimal graphene defects, and high process yields remains challenging, given the sensitivity of these devices to processing conditions and environmental factors. In this work, two approaches for the fabrication of our graphene FETs were presented, evaluated, and compared for high yields and easy filling of ionic liquids.

Objective: We aim to evaluate the effects of iCBT components in preventing depression among university students.
Background And Objectives: To clarify the safety and feasibility of laparoscopic proximal gastrectomy (LPG) with our novel reconstruction methods.
Methods: Novel method is a reconstruction with a long and narrow gastric tube with widening of the proximal side created by linear stapler, and esophagogastrostomy is performed by linear stapler. In conventional method, esophagogastrostomy is performed by a circular stapler.
Background & Aims: Depression symptoms are both prevalent and associated with poor prognosis in patients with convalescent stroke. Therefore, the improvement of depression symptoms is important for patients with convalescent stroke. This study aimed to examine whether malnutrition diagnosed using the Global Leadership Initiative on Malnutrition (GLIM) criteria and its components are associated with improvements in depression symptoms in patients with stroke undergoing rehabilitation.

Methods: This study included 9 controls and 33 patients with MS: 7 patients treated with DMF, 7 patients treated with NTZ, 9 patients treated with S1P receptor modulators, and 10 patients who had switched DMTs from S1P receptor modulators to DMF or NTZ by the second vaccine dose. The patients who had switched DMTs were classified into two groups, based on whether their lymphocyte counts were above or below 1000/μL at the time of vaccination.
DNA methylation maintenance is essential for cell fate inheritance. In differentiated cells, this involves orchestrated actions of DNMT1 and UHRF1. In mice, the high-affinity binding of DPPA3 to the UHRF1 PHD finger regulates UHRF1 chromatin dissociation and cytosolic localization, which is required for oocyte maturation and early embryo development.

Coherence between different energy eigenstates is particularly important, as it serves as a valuable resource under the law of energy conservation. A fundamental question in this setting is how well one can prepare good coherent states from low coherent states and whether a given coherent state is convertible to another one.

However, there are very few reports about regional surgical education. This study aimed to clarify the current status and issues regarding surgical education in regional surgical care and to examine the ideal way to provide surgical education in the region.

However, in many patients, clinical responses are slow to develop and remain modest. Indeed, some symptoms of AD are dependent on IL-31, which is only partially reduced by IL-4/IL-13 inhibition.

Methods: This retrospective cohort study was conducted in Japan between January 2016 and December 2022. We included hospitalized patients with cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) samples and those aged <2 months or who had 5 or more white blood cells/μL in the CSF.
Subthreshold depression impairs young people's quality of life and places them at greater risk of developing major depression. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based approach for addressing such depressive states. This study identified subtypes of university students with subthreshold depression and revealed discrete profiles of five CBT skills: self-monitoring, cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, assertive communication, and problem solving.

We included data for 401 patients (out of 3088 patients) aged ≥ 65 years (85 males, 316 females) from nine hospitals who sustained a femoral neck fracture between July 2005 and September 2015. Using the number of days until surgery or the number of days until the start of rehabilitation or both as the explanatory variables, and the indoor mobility at discharge as the outcome variable, we calculated the adjusted rate ratio (ARR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) using Poisson regression analysis (age, sex, cognitive impairment, concurrent symptoms, and previous history of fracture adjusted as covariates).

This study examined changes in depressive states among Japanese university students during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Methods: A secondary data analysis from a factorial randomized controlled trial involving smartphone-based cognitive-behavioral therapy was performed.
Introduction: We have previously reported that overexpression of visinin-like protein 1 (VSNL1) is frequently observed in advanced colorectal adenocarcinomas and correlates with poorer prognosis. In this study, we determined the levels of VSNL1 expression in the earlier stages of colorectal tumors including adenomas and adenocarcinomas, and attempted to clarify the functional significance of VSNL1 overexpression in colorectal carcinogenesis.
Methods: Levels of VSNL expression in colorectal tumor tissues were analyzed using immunohistochemistry.
The risk of dysphagia and/or aspiration is determined using screening tests, such as the repeated saliva swallowing test and modified water swallowing test, which evaluate cued swallowing. However, humans masticate and swallow foods with various consistencies, forms, and amounts, without conscious awareness. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the difference in the behavior of masticatory and swallowing muscles during spontaneous versus cued swallowing through a series of mastication and swallowing processes by evaluating surface electromyogram (sEMG) signals.

Recently, the JCOG1109 study revealed that NAC with docetaxel, cisplatin and 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) (DCF-NAC) is superior to NAC with cisplatin and 5-FU, and has now become the standard preoperative chemotherapy. Using a microarray system, we have previously investigated the expression profiles of endoscopic biopsy samples from patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) before DCF-NAC (preNAC) and identified 17 molecules as biomarkers predictive of a pathologically complete response to DCF-NAC.
