Objective: Serum albumin is used as a marker of acute inflammation. Several studies have addressed the association between serum albumin and clinical outcome in patients with ulcerative colitis (UC). While mucosal healing (MH) has been indicated as the therapeutic goal for UC, the association between serum albumin and MH remains unclear.

Materials And Methods: A total of 82 infants with unilateral palpable cryptorchidism, 24 with nonpalpable testes who underwent unilateral LSFSO and 20 with scrotal hydrocele were included. Ultrasonographic determination of testicular volume and measurement of testicular temperature but not scrotal surface temperature using a Coretemp CTM204 (Terumo, Tokyo) were performed before and 12 months after orchiopexy.
Somatic genetic alteration analysis was performed for post-hysterectomy high-risk early-stage uterine cervical cancer patients who underwent post-operative radiation therapy. Post-operative radiation therapy was performed for patients with pathological features of pelvic lymph node metastasis, parametrium invasion, or positive vaginal margin, which corresponded to the post-operative high-risk category. DNA was extracted from paraffin-embedded surgical specimens, and 50 somatic hotspot genetic alternations were detected using Ion AmpliSeq Cancer Hotspot Panel.

However, its role in spermatogenesis has not yet been established. Here, we aimed to elucidate the impact of ATF1 in spermatogenesis by examining the expression pattern of ATF1 in mice and the effect of ATF1 knockdown in the mouse testes.

However, there are few reports on hearing-aid amplification based on acoustic-phonetic characteristics of the Japanese language. This study's objective is to investigate the LTASS for Japanese, and to compare a typical amplification rationale originally developed mainly for Western European languages with an amplification rationale specifically adjusted to the LTASS for Japanese.

The clinical features and histological findings of pemphigus vegetans and immunohistochemical characteristics of bullous pemphigoid are shown. An 86-year-old woman presented with vegetative lesions in the vulva and groin, and blisters on the head, neck, axillae, and thighs.

Male infertility is a multifactorial pathological condition that affects half of infertile couples. The majority of cases are categorized as idiopathic, especially in cases of nonobstructive azoospermia (NOA). An increasing number of genetic abnormalities have been shown to cause spermatogenic impairment with the development of microarray technologies and next-generation sequencing (NGS), moving beyond classical karyotype and polymerase chain reaction analyses of targeted genes.

Here, we developed a method to identify the binding sites of the insulator transcription factor CTCF and the genome-wide distribution of histone modifications involved in transcriptional activation. Importantly, we provide evidence that the ChIP-seq datasets obtained from FFPE samples are similar to or even better than the data for corresponding fresh-frozen samples, indicating that FFPE samples are compatible with ChIP-seq analysis.

The phyllosphere is one of the major habitats for a group of microorganisms, the so-called methylotrophs, that utilize one-carbon (C1) compounds, such as methanol and methane, as their sole source of carbon and energy. Among phyllospheric microorganisms, methanol-utilizing methylotrophic bacteria, known as pink-pigmented facultative methylotrophs (PPFMs), are the dominant colonizers of the phyllosphere, and some of them have recently been shown to have the ability to promote plant growth and increase crop yield.

In recent years, the intraventricular pressure gradient (IVPG) has been a breakthrough as a sensitive index to assess cardiac function. This study aimed to evaluate the usefulness of IVPG for the early detection of chemotherapy-related cardiac dysfunction.

The probability of patients with AIS or MIA being recurrence free for 5 years postoperatively has been found to be 100%. This study aimed to analyze the prognosis of patients with AIS or MIA after more than 5 postoperative years.

Case Report: This is a case of a 65-year-old man with human epidermal growth factor-2 (HER2)-positive AGC. He was initially treated with capecitabine, cisplatin, and trastuzumab, followed by paclitaxel and ramucirumab, nivolumab, trifluridine and tipiracil, and irinotecan regimens in addition to radiation therapy for brain metastasis.
IL-33 is a chromatin-associated multifunctional cytokine implicated in the pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis (AD), an inflammatory skin disorder characterized by skin barrier dysfunction. The previous reports show that IL-33 is highly detected in the nucleus of epidermal keratinocytes in AD lesions compared with that in unaffected or normal skin. However, it is unclear whether intracellular IL-33 directly contributes to the pathogenesis of AD.

Methods: Eating quickly, eating until full, and skipping breakfast data was obtained from a self-administered questionnaire.
Neuroendocrine carcinoma of the cervix (NECC) is a rare and highly aggressive tumor with no efficient treatment. We examined genetic features of NECC and identified potential therapeutic targets. Background: Based on the results of the PACIFIC study, chemoradiotherapy followed by 1-year consolidation therapy with durvalumab was established as the standard of care for unresectable, locally advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (LA-NSCLC). However, some topics not foreseen in that design can be explored, including progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) after the start of chemoradiotherapy, the proportion of patients who proceeded to consolidation therapy with durvalumab, and the optimal chemotherapeutic regimens. In Japan, the combination regimen of S-1 + cisplatin (SP), for which the results of multiple clinical studies have suggested a good balance of efficacy and tolerability, is frequently selected in clinical settings.
