Gestational Diabetes and Analysis of Maternal and Fetal Outcomes Among Pregnant Women: A Cross-Sectional Study.

Purpose Of The Study: To determine the occurrence of gestational diabetes mellitus and analyze the maternal and fetal outcomes among pregnant women.

Methods: A prospective cross-sectional study was conducted for a duration of 7 months in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at tertiary care hospital where 518 pregnant women participants of age above 18 years who had come for labor and undergone DIPSI (diabetes in pregnancy study of India) test were included in the study after the ethical clearance and obtaining written informed consent, whereas pregnant women with pre-existing diabetes mellitus and on other medication that alter glucose metabolism were excluded from the study.

Results: The occurrence of GDM was found to be 15.

A Fatal and Rare Case of Hydatid Cyst in the Pouch of Douglas.

Hydatid cyst is a zoonotic infection and a significant public health problem in low- and middle-income countries. A 79-year-old female patient was presented to the gynecology outpatient department with complaints of pain in the abdomen and difficulty in micturition, with a mass palpable per speculum. The ultrasound was suggestive of an ovarian cystadenocarcinoma, whereas computed tomography of the abdomen favored hydatid cyst with adnexal neoplasm as a differential diagnosis.

Occult Gallbladder Carcinoma Presenting as a Primary Ovarian Tumour: a Case Report and Review of Literature.

The ovary is a common site of metastasis from various organs. However, little is known about gallbladder carcinoma metastasising to the ovaries and presenting as a primary ovarian tumour. We report a case of a metastatic gallbladder carcinoma which mimicked a primary ovarian tumour in a 31-year-old woman who presented with menstrual symptoms and an ovarian mass without obvious signs and symptoms related to gallbladder carcinoma.

The clinical management of hyperemesis gravidarum.

Hyperemesis gravidarum is a severe and disabling condition with potentially life-threatening complications. It is likely to have a multifactorial etiology which contributes to the difficulty in treatment. Treatment is supportive with correction of dehydration and electrolyte disturbance, antiemetic therapy, prevention and treatment of complications like Wernicke's encephalopathy, osmotic demyelination syndrome, thromboembolism, and good psychological support.
