Meningitis is a significant health concern globally, with enterovirus (EV) being the most common cause of viral meningitis in adults. We discuss the case of a 57-year-old female patient with enteroviral meningitis manifesting as pseudotumor cerebri, posing significant clinical challenges. She presented with symptoms, signs, and radiological evidence suggesting idiopathic intracranial hypertension.

The aim of this research study is to determine whether NLR and H-FAB are useful in predicting the prognosis in patients with ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) 48 h after admission. This is a prospective observational study conducted on 97 patients who had been admitted to emergency room with ST-elevation myocardial infarction in their ECG in a tertiary care centre of south India.

The protective layer of the body, the skin is often prone to damage due to several factors like trauma, accidents, stress and hazardous exposure. This requires the skin to regenerate itself which is a finely regulated process. To hasten the process and prevent further damage, the dressing material is of prime importance.

Among the noble metals, platinum nanoparticles are of importance because of their catalytic property, antioxidant potential, minimal toxicity and diverse applications. Biological process of synthesis has retained its significance, because it is a simple one-step process yielding stable nanoparticles.

However, their potential toxicological impact on environmental microorganisms is largely unexplored. The aim of this work was to investigate the sensitivity and adaptability of five bacterial species isolated from sewage towards Ag and ZnO NPs.

Pesticides are an essential tool in integrated pest management. Nanopermethrin was prepared by solvent evaporation from an oil-in-water volatile microemulsion. The efficacy of the formulated nanopermethrin was tested against Aedes aegypti and the results compared to those of regular, microparticular permethrin.

In this paper, we describe a novel approach for the degradation of starch using the catalytic behaviour of AgNPs in an enzyme catalysed reaction of starch hydrolysis by α-amylase. AgNPs were synthesized by soluble starch reducing silver nitrate to silver atoms.

The effects of these anticholinergics were compared with tolterodine (3 microm), an anticholinergic clinically used for relaxing the detrusor muscle. The inhibitory effect of each of these five anticholinergics was studied on six strips of caprine detrusor muscle made to contract with 100 mum acetylcholine (ACh) by determining the percent inhibition of height of contraction and the area under the contractile curve (AUC).
