Cases of dermatitis caused by pesticide exposures (n = 394), tabulated by the Division of Dermatology, Saku Central Hospital, Japan, from 1975 to 2000 are described. Dermatitis cases gradually decreased from 1975 to 2000, presumably accelerated by the phase-out of dermatitis-causing pesticides, including difolatan fungicide and salithion, an organophosphorous insecticide. Cases of chronic and solar dermatitides gradually decreased, which may be explained by reductions in the use of allergenic or photosensitive sulfur agents and organophosphates.

Here, we report a case of cutaneous EBVBL in a 72-year-old Japanese woman without any signs of immunosuppression. She showed repeated high fever and skin eruptions on the face, limbs and palms.

Objective: Our aim was to investigate the relation between the dermoscopic patterns and anatomical and histopathological characteristics of melanocytic nevi on the sole.
Methods: The precise locations of 298 melanocytic nevi on the sole from 278 patients were retrospectively investigated, with attention paid to each dermoscopic pattern.
We performed a multicentre study to test the validity of teledermoscopy for diagnosing acral melanoma and to evaluate inter-observer agreement on the classification of acral melanocytic lesions. Dermoscopic images of 77 acral melanocytic lesions (71 common melanocytic naevi and 6 melanomas) were sent by email to 11 dermatologists with different degrees of experience in dermoscopy. The observers analysed the images on a computer monitor to diagnose acral melanoma or atypical lesions and to categorize all lesions.

Design: Multicenter, retrospective study.
Setting: University hospitals in Japan.
Background: Epidemiologic studies have suggested that number of acquired melanocytic nevi is a risk factor for melanoma development in Japanese as it is in white populations. However, there are only a few population-based studies on acquired nevi in Asian populations, and no epidemiologic study on relationship between number of acquired nevi and melanoma in Japanese populations has been reported.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to assess number, size, and distribution of acquired melanocytic nevi in a Japanese population.
The patient was a 54-year-old Japanese man with a seven-month history of an eroded lesion on the scrotum. Skin biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of extramammary Paget's disease, and a CT scan revealed multiple metastases to the lymph nodes along the iliac artery and aorta. The patient underwent combination chemotherapy with mitomycin C, epirubicin, vincristine, cisplatin, and 5-fluorouracil.
