  • HPV is linked to several skin diseases, including Bowen's carcinoma, which is a type of skin cancer that can spread to other organs.
  • In a case study, a 44-year-old man with Bowen's carcinoma of the toe was found to have HPV type 16 DNA in both the original and metastatic lesions after various lab tests.
  • Mutations were identified in the E6 and E7 genes of the HPV DNA from the metastatic lesions, indicating a potential connection between HPV infection and the progression of this type of cancer.

Because of its immuno-suppressive properties, IL-10 has been suggested as a potential therapy for allergic inflammation and asthma.
