Background: Duodenal Brunner's gland hyperplasia (BGH) is a therapeutic target when complications such as bleeding or gastrointestinal obstruction occur or when malignancy cannot be ruled out. Herein, we present a case of large BGH treated with endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR).

Systemic AL amyloidosis with multiple submucosal hematomas of the colon: a case report and literature review.

Amyloid light-chain (AL) amyloidosis rarely causes colorectal submucosal hematoma. A 76-year-old man presented with a complaint of bloody stool. An initial colonoscopy revealed ulcerative lesions in the descending colon, leading to a diagnosis of ischemic colitis.

A 79-year-old woman was diagnosed with transverse colon cancer, moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma. She underwent surgery and postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy. At 80 years old, the patient exhibited changes in skin tone at the chest and abdomen with CK7+/CK20-/CDX2- immunostaining that was later identified as poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma.

Myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) are caused by genetic abnormalities in the stem cells and manifest with various systemic symptoms. Here, we describe a case of MPN complicated by alopecia areata. Advanced Colon Cancer after Curative Resection of Intramucosal Adenocarcinoma with Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection.

Endoscopic resection, particularly endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), for colorectal cancers enables a precise pathological diagnosis and safe R0 resection. The recurrence rate after ESD is generally extremely low, with annual surveillance colonoscopy recommended. However, surveillance may not be considered for super-elderly patients owing to their condition.

Diarrhea is a common complication in kidney transplant recipients. Common causes of diarrhea include infection, side effect from medication, rejection, and malignancy. A less common but important cause of diarrhea is de novo inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

We herein report the definitive diagnosis of rectovaginal endometriosis in two cases. Case 1 involved a 46-year-old woman with abdominal pain and hematochezia. The diagnosis after the first and second examinations using lower gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy was unclear.

Intravascular lymphoma with hypopituitarism: A case report.

Background: Intravascular lymphoma (IVL) is a rare subtype of lymphoma involving the growth of lymphoma cells within the vessel lumina without lymphadenopathy. Because of various modes of presentation and its rarity, IVL is often diagnosed postmortem. Herein, we report a case of intravascular B-cell lymphoma with hypopituitarism, an extremely rare complication, that was successfully treated with chemotherapy.

A 75-year-old man was referred to our hospital due to a huge pancreatic cyst. Computed tomography revealed a monocular cyst 15 cm in size without a solid mass lesion nearby. He was diagnosed with pancreatic pseudocyst.

Hepatic methotrexate-associated lymphoproliferative disorders identified by multiple liver tumors: a case report and review of the literature.

Background: Methotrexate, an immunosuppressant, is widely used as the standard therapeutic drug for rheumatoid arthritis. With the increasing frequency of use of methotrexate, adverse effects of methotrexate have been reported, one of which is known as methotrexate-associated lymphoproliferative disorders. The etiology of hepatic methotrexate-associated lymphoproliferative disorders remains largely unknown.

Intravascular large B-cell lymphoma involving large blood vessels, three autopsy cases.

Although intravascular large B-cell lymphoma (IVLBCL) is an extranodal lymphoma characterized by the selective growth of lymphoma cells within the lumina of small vessels, we here report three autopsy cases of IVLBCL characterized by the proliferation within large blood vessels. These three cases were diagnosed as IVLBCL of the bone marrow or skin biopsy. Two cases died suddenly before treatment, whereas the other died during treatment.

Hypothalamic hypopituitarism secondary to suprasellar metastases from small cell lung cancer: a case report and review of the literature.

Background: Metastasis to the pituitary gland is an infrequent clinical problem, and the symptoms caused by metastases have been reported in only 2.5-18.2% of the cases.

CT-guided Biopsy for the Diagnosis of Pulmonary Epithelioid Hemangioendothelioma Mimicking Metastatic Lung Cancer.

A 69-year-old male patient presented with multiple lung nodules revealed by chest-computed tomography (CT) during a preoperative examination for an appendiceal tumor. The nodule diameters ranged from 2-10 mm without either pleural thickening or effusions. A fluorine-18-labeled fluorodeoxyglucose (F-FDG)-positron emission tomography (PET)/CT scan showed a high FDG uptake in the appendiceal tumor, but almost normal standardized uptake values in the bilateral lung nodules.

Serous borderline tumors (SBTs) are nonaggressive and have excellent prognosis. Furthermore, SBTs with micropapillary pattern (SBT-MP) are known to be associated with a higher recurrence rate, microinvasions and invasive implants compared to typical SBTs, and these characteristics have adverse effects on prognosis. Here, we report a case of SBT with micropapillary pattern (SBT-MP) that developed 6 recurrences over 30 years after primary surgery.

Stomach resection with intraoperative fluoroscopy in laparoscopic distal gastrectomy for early gastric cancer.

Background: In Japan, laparoscopic distal gastrectomy (LDG) is common for early gastric cancer. Formerly, we used to verify the location of the marking clip to decide the proximal incisional line with our hand, through a small epigastric incision. In 2015, we introduced intracorporeal reconstruction and started to decide the incisional line using intraoperative fluoroscopy.

Introduction: Liver gas gangrene is a rare condition with a highly mortality rate. It is mostly associated with host factors, such as malignancy and immunosuppression.

Poor prognosis of ovarian cancer with large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma: case report and review of published works.

Large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC) is well-reported to result in unfavorable prognoses in many organ cancers while being rarely reported in gynecologic cancer, especially ovarian and endometrial cancers. Here we report a case of ovarian cancer with LCNEC which spread to distant organs within 1 year of primary surgery despite the fact that the post-surgical stage was Ia. The case received platinum-based chemotherapy as an adjuvant therapy after her curative surgery.

[A case of breast adenocarcinoma changed to squamous cell carcinoma after neoadjuvant chemotherapy].

Squamous cell carcinoma(SCC)of the breast is a rare pathological-type cancer with an unclear origin. It has been suggested that breast SCC may originate from squamous metaplasia of the ductal epithelium. We report a case of SCC of the breast which histological carcinoma type changed after neoadjuvant chemotherapy.
