[Percutaneous transluminal angioplasty using Filtrap to capture thrombus for chronic total occlusion of superficial femoral artery: a case report].

A 75-year-old female was admitted for cerebral infarction and arteriosclerosis obliterans. Computed tomography with contrast medium revealed occlusion of the superficial femoral artery (SFA). Percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA)was performed for the SFA (length 30 cm), but massive thrombus was seen in the SFA.

Do eicosapentaenoic acid supplements attenuate age-related increases in arterial stiffness in patients with dyslipidemia?: A preliminary study.

The present study was conducted to examine the effect of eicosapentaenoic acid supplements on pulse wave velocity (PWV) in patients with dyslipidemia as a prospective open-labeled study. Eicosapentaenoic acid supplements (1,800 mg/day) were prescribed to 40 patients, and diet therapy in consultation with a nutritionist was conducted in 44 patients as a control group. These interventions were continued for 12 months, and PWV and blood examinations were performed at the start and end of these interventions.

[Assessment of therapeutic effect in acute myocardial infarction using early/delayed images of 123I-BMIPP myocardial scintigraphy].

This study was aimed at analyzing the discordance between the initial and late scintigraphic images in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI), and utilizing the data obtained for the treatment of AMI patients. Ninety-one patients with a history of the first episode of AMI were enrolled as subjects for this study. Emergency coronary angiography was performed in all the patients and left ventriculography (LVG) was carried out subsequently.
