Aim: Since ovarian endometrioma is frequently diagnosed in women of reproductive age, laparoscopic excision of the endometrioma is performed for most cases. However, endometriomas frequently recurs even after repeated surgical procedures. The aim of our study is to identify risk factors for recurrence and re-recurrence of endometriomas after the first and second laparoscopic excision.

Problem: The number of uterus natural killer (NK) cells change through the menstrual cycle, but the origin of uterus NK cell was not unclear. Our aims are to study whether we can reproduce repetition of menstrual cycle and to reveal the origin of uterus NK cells.

Method Of Study: Endometrial samples were obtained from fertile women, and the tissues were transplanted into ovariectomized non-obese diabetic (NOD)/severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID)/γCnull (NOG) mice.

Aim: To show whether molecular motor dynein on a microtubule track, molecular motor myosin Va, motor recruiter myosin Va, VIIa-Rab27a/b interacting protein (MyRIP), and vesicle receptor Rab27b on an F-actin track were present during human and monkey spermiogenesis involving intramanchette transport (IMT).

Methods: Spermiogenic cells were obtained from three men with obstructive azoospermia and normal adult cynomolgus monkey (Macaca fascicularis). Immunocytochemical detection and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) analysis of the proteins were carried out.

Purpose: We conducted a multicenter phase II study of amrubicin, a novel 9-aminoanthracycline, to evaluate its efficacy and safety in patients with non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

Patients And Methods: Entry requirements included cytologically or histologically proven measurable NSCLC, stage III or IV, no prior therapy, an Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) performance status of 0 to 2, and adequate organ function. Amrubicin was given by daily intravenous injection at 45 mg/m2/day for three consecutive days, repeated at 3 week intervals.

Recently, the immunoglobulin superfamily protein IZUMO on the sperm surface was identified as being essential for sperm-egg fusion. Although we examined the expression of IZUMO on sperm of 13 male infertile patients with severe oligozoospermia and/or athenozoospermia and 12 infertile patients with fertilization failure in previous conventional IVF to determine whether it is varied in infertility patients, we could not identify any patients with IZUMO negative by immunocytochemistry.
