Introduction: The aim of this study was to develop and validate a new diabetes distress scale suitable for Chinese and Taiwanese culture.

Methods: This study collected the current diabetes distress measurement tools, re-organized current definitions about the domains of diabetes distress, and then developed a new tool. Three hundred and ninety-five participants from four hospitals in northern Taiwan were recruited by cluster randomized sampling for validity test.

The regulation of platelet function by pharmacological agents that modulate platelet signaling has proven to be a positive approach to the prevention of thrombosis. Ruthenium complexes are fascinating for the development of new drugs, as they possess numerous chemical and biological properties. The present study aims to evaluate the structure-activity relationship (SAR) of newly synthesized ruthenium (II) complexes, TQ-1, TQ-2 and TQ-3 in agonists-induced washed human platelets.

Article Synopsis
  • - Autophagy plays a crucial role in maintaining cellular balance, but diabetes mellitus disrupts this process, leading to harmful protein buildup that damages heart cells (cardiomyocytes) and can cause cell death (apoptosis).
  • - Histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitors like MPT0E014 show promise in reducing heart inflammation and fibrosis in diabetes-related heart disease, but their impact on autophagy in this context hasn't been studied yet.
  • - This study aims to explore how HDAC inhibition affects cardiac autophagy and related proteins in a rat model of type 2 diabetes (T2DM), finding that HDAC treatment improves autophagy markers and cardiac function compared to untreated T2DM
