Purpose: To evaluate the predictive ability of combining Technetium-99m-galactosyl human serum albumin (Tc‑GSA) single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT)/computed tomography (CT) volume and plasma clearance rate of indocyanine green (ICGK) for posthepatectomy liver failure (PHLF).
Materials And Methods: Fifty patients who underwent Tc-GSA scintigraphy as a preoperative examination for segmentectomy or more from July 2021 to June 2023 were evaluated prospectively. Patients were divided into two groups according to the presence or absence of posthepatectomy liver failure (PHLF).
Transcatheter arterial embolization is a useful treatment for postpancreatectomy hemorrhage, a severe complication of pancreatic surgery. N-butyl cyanoacrylate is a liquid and permanent embolic material that is widely used in transcatheter arterial embolization. However, its use can lead to the adherence of the catheter to the vessel wall and occlusion of the catheter lumen.

Methods: A total of 54 patients with advanced NSCLC who had 2-deoxy-2-[fluorine-18]-fluoro-D-glucose PET or CT at baseline, and 4 and 9 weeks after PD-1 blockade, were registered. Therapeutic response was assessed according to the Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST), the immune-modified RECIST (irRECIST), the PET Response Criteria in Solid Tumors (PERCIST), the immune-modified PERCIST (iPERCIST), and the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) criteria for dichotomous groups, such as responders vs.
Purpose: To investigate the utility of the combined use of C-Pittsburgh compound B (C-PiB) positron emission tomography (PET) imaging and Tc-pyrophosphate (Tc-PYP) scintigraphy for detection and differentiation of three major types of cardiac amyloidosis, i.e. immunoglobulin light chain (AL), hereditary transthyretin (ATTRv), and wild-type transthyretin (ATTRwt) amyloidosis.

Materials And Methods: Three-dimensional MRCP and ERCP images were retrospectively analyzed in 24 patients with AIP. We evaluated the narrowing length of the main pancreatic duct (NR-MPD), multiple skipped MPD narrowing (SK-MPD), and side branches arising from the narrowed portion of the MPD (SB-MPD) using four MRCP datasets: 5 original images (MIP), 10 original images (MIP), all original images (full-MIP), and a combination of these three datasets (a-MIP).
This research demonstrated that commercially available alumina is well-suited for use in large area X-ray detectors. We discovered a new radiation imaging device that has a high spatial resolution, high sensitivity, wide dynamic range, large imaging area, repeatable results, and low operating costs. The high thermoluminescent (TL) properties of Al2O3 ceramic plates make them useful for X-ray imaging devices.

However, a limited number of systemic ATTRwt amyloidosis patients have been diagnosed antemortem, and therefore, the prevalence of ATTRwt is underestimated. Here, we investigated clinical findings of a series of systemic ATTRwt amyloidosis patients with antemortem diagnosis.

The PB2 subunit binds to the host RNA cap (7-methylguanosine triphosphate (m(7)GTP)) and supports the endonuclease activity of PA to "snatch" the cap from host pre-mRNAs. However, the structure of PB2 is not fully understood, and the functional sites remain unknown.

Autophagy is a degradation system in which cellular components are digested via vacuoles/lysosomes. In the budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, the induction of autophagy results from inactivation of target of rapamycin complex 1 (TORC1), promoting formation of the serine/threonine kinase Atg1, which is one of the key autophagy-related (Atg) proteins required for both nonselective and selective autophagy such as the cytoplasm-to-vacuole targeting (Cvt) pathway. Here, to understand the induction mechanism of autophagy in filamentous fungi, we first identified the ATG1 homolog Aoatg1 in Aspergillus oryzae and then analyzed the localization of an enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP)-AoAtg1 fusion protein.

Method: Intravenous carbazochrome sodium sulfate hydrate as a hemostatic drug (100 mg/day) was prescribed for 2 days. On the day of ECT, oxygen inhalation (4 L/min) was continued, and SpO2 was maintained at 94-96%.
Purpose: We ascertained the difference in the level of pulmonary hilar (PH) gallium-67 (Ga-67) uptake in autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP) patients between the active (before corticosteroid therapy) and remittent (after 4 weeks of corticosteroid therapy) phases using a semiquantitative measurement method based on single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) with integrated low-dose computed tomography (CT).
Materials And Methods: Ga-67 planar scans and SPECT were performed in 11 AIP patients before and after 4 weeks of corticosteroid therapy. A region of interest (ROI) was drawn over the bilateral pulmonary hilum and the liver, and average counts of the pulmonary hilum and liver were calculated.
Objective: AQCEL enables automatic reconstruction of single-photon emission computed tomogram (SPECT) without image degradation and quantitative analysis of cerebral blood flow (CBF) after the input of simple parameters. We ascertained the usefulness and quality of images obtained by the application software AQCEL in clinical practice.
Methods: Twelve patients underwent brain perfusion SPECT using technetium-99m ethyl cysteinate dimer at rest and after acetazolamide (ACZ) loading.
Patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) who later suffer hydrocephalus show persistently high levels of transforming growth factor-beta 1 (TGF-beta 1) in the cerebrospinal fluid after the onset of SAH. Recombinant TGF-beta 1 induces hydrocephalus in mice. This study examined the spatial learning ability of rats after intraventricular administration of TGF-beta 1.
