Primary cardiac lymphomas (PCLs) are a rare clinical entity, in which treatment guidelines remain to be established. Rituximab, etoposide, prednisone, vincristine, cyclophosphamide, and doxorubicin (R-EPOCH) has been proposed, given that it involves a continuous infusion of anthracycline, reducing the risk of a cardiotoxicity and therefore the theoretical risk of perforation. However, the literature on this method of treatment is scarce.

Measurable residual disease (MRD) is an important biomarker in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). However, MRD cannot be detected in many patients using current methods. We developed a highly sensitive 5-hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC) signature in cell-free DNA by analyzing 115 AML patients and 86 controls.

Burkitt lymphoma (BL) is an extremely aggressive but curable subtype of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. While younger patients have excellent outcomes in response to aggressive chemoimmunotherapy, the rarity of this disease in older patients and limitations caused by age, comorbidities, and performance status may negate survival advantages. This analysis assessed outcomes of older adults with BL through data provided by the Texas Cancer Registry (TCR).

Epigenetic abnormality is a hallmark of acute myeloid leukemia (AML), and aberrant 5-hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC) levels are commonly observed in AML patients. As epigenetic subgroups of AML correlate with different clinical outcomes, we investigated whether plasma cell-free DNA (cfDNA) 5hmC could categorize AML patients into subtypes. We profiled the genome-wide landscape of 5hmC in plasma cfDNA from 54 AML patients.

Primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL) is an aggressive subtype of non-Hodgkin lymphoma that carries a poor prognosis in the elderly. The aim of this study is to investigate treatment patterns and survival trends in patients ≥ 65 years with PCNSL through data provided by the Texas Cancer Registry. Adults ≥ 65 years diagnosed with PCNSL and followed between 1995-2017 were identified and separated into three eras: 1995-2003, 2004-2012, and 2013-2017.

Aberrant changes in 5-hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC) are a unique epigenetic feature in many cancers including acute myeloid leukemia (AML). However, genome-wide analysis of 5hmC in plasma cell-free DNA (cfDNA) remains unexploited in AML patients. We used a highly sensitive and robust nano-5hmC-Seal technology and profiled genome-wide 5hmC distribution in 239 plasma cfDNA samples from 103 AML patients and 81 non-cancer controls.

Background: Relapsed/refractory peripheral T-cell lymphoma (R/R PTCL) has a poor prognosis. Romidepsin (Ro) and brentuximab vedotin (Bv), combined with ifosfamide, carboplatin, and etoposide (ICE) has not been significantly studied in PTCL.

Aim: We report outcomes of Bv-ICE in CD30 (+) and Ro-ICE in CD30 (-) R/R PTCL treated in "Blinded for peer review" Cancer Center.

A 33-year-old woman presented to the emergency room with severe headaches. A CT scan of the head revealed two brain lesions with associated vasogenic oedema. Diagnostic resection of one of the lesions followed by pathological analysis revealed grade III lymphomatoid granulomatosis (LYG).

Multiple myeloma (MM) is the second most common haematological malignancy in the USA. MM has been linked to various autoimmune disorders in many studies; one systemic review even suggested an increased risk of MM among patients with autoimmune disorders. MM is associated with many haematological, rheumatologic and neurological conditions.

Secondary acute myeloid leukaemia complicating the natural disease course of pre-existing Philadelphia chromosome-negative myeloproliferative neoplasms (PN-MPN) is well documented and associated with treatment challenges and significant morbidity. The incidence of a T-cell malignancy developing in patients with pre-existing PN-MPN is uncommon, with one case documented in the literature. We present two cases of angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma (AITL) and one case of T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (T-ALL) that developed in patients with essential thrombocythemia (ET) and primary myelofibrosis (PMF), respectively.

An 88-year-old woman presented to our emergency room with complaints of fever, coryza, barking cough and generalised fatigue for 2 days. Physical examination showed stridor, tachypnoea with use of accessory muscles of respiration on admission. Laboratory tests were unremarkable except for monocytosis with a normal total white cell count.

The FIP1L1-PDGFRA rearrangement results in constitutive activation of the tyrosine kinase PDGFRA. Neoplasms harboring this rearrangement are responsive to imatinib mesylate at doses much lower than those recommended for the treatment of chronic myelogenous leukemia. Only a single report has described the identification of FIP1L1-PDGFRA in chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML).

Breast cancer is the second most common cause of death for women behind lung cancer and the most common cause of cancer deaths for women aged 45-55 years old (CDC.gov 2012). Although there continue to be enormously large numbers of disease incidence, deaths have been declining due to the disease with two hallmark time frames.
